Thinking of You - PC #207

Hello my friends and Happy Friday. It is also the first Friday of the month of June so that means it's time for another challenge from Pattie's Creations. The theme is always Anything Goes, but for the design team we can use the theme of Things That Fly. Just remember to always use a stamped or digital image on your card. Pattie always provides a free image for you to use if you like. You can also check out her Etsy shop with a link on the challenge blog and see what fabulous digital stamps she has. Here is my card.

I'm sure you know how much I love Monarch butterflies and couldn't resist coloring this one to try to match them in real life. The sentiment is part of the image so I didn't have to do anything extra.

I used Stampin Up Crushed Curry for the card base and mat. The designer paper is from Recollections. I cut the image and die to match the form of the image from Pattie. I wanted to add some type of ribbon and found this Stampin Up Daffodil Delight pom pom trim and thought it went perfect. Added just a bit of bling and done. I used my Copic markers for coloring, simple colors.

I hope you'll pop on over to Pattie's Creations and check out what the rest of the Design Team has created. Join in the fun and show us your creations of either Something That Flies or Anything Goes. There are two winners each month; one winner is randomly drawn from all entries and one winner is randomly picked from those using a Pattie's Creation image.  Good luck.

Thank You

Hello friends. I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend with safe celebrations. I had a quiet day yesterday studying for an exam for this week's nutrition class. I just hope I can remember half of what I've read through the last three weeks. There's going to be a lot of studying this week.

I did have some time to get this card done for the Challenge Your Stash challenge over on SCS (Splitcoast Stampers). Each month there is a hostess who picks the theme and then we all make a card to go along with the theme using only items in our stash. This month the hostess was Sharon (smadson) and her theme was "to make May Day baskets and put them on the porches. Weave something or put a basket on your card."

Here is my card. I was in such a rush this weekend that I neglected to write everything down that I used to make this. I do know that the images were from Papertrey Ink, Thank You Florals and Vase Collection stamp sets with matching dies. I love having dies that go along with my stamps to save all that fussy cutting. I used my Stampin Up stamp pads for the basket and my Copic markers to color the flowers and added some sequins from my stash to finish it off. I love using flowers for my cards so this was a lot of fun.

Happy Day - Creative Card Chicks

Hello, my friends. Good Tuesday morning. I hope things are going well with you. Weather here in H Town is starting to warm up. That brings the bad air quality so people are cautioned about being outside for too long. I don't get along with the heat very well, so I'm happy to stay indoors with the A/C.

Today I have a card to share with you for the SCS Creative Card Chicks monthly stamping group. This group has been around for a long time. We are down to only six members now, but we're still enthusiastic about card making and love to see what we get every month. The way it works is that we have a hostess each month. For the first six months, the hostess will send out a card kit to the other five members. For the second, six month, the hostess can either send a card kit or post a challenge and the members will use their own stamps and supplies to make their card. Either way, it's a lot of fun. This is our first month of our new season. It's been so many years I've lost track of how long we have been doing this.

For this month of May, Suzy (SuzyS1104) is our hostess and she sent a fun card kit for everyone. When making our card we are to use the items sent in the kit and only use the cardstock in our stash for the base and any mats we may need.

 Materials Used:

  • Image - Stampin Up - Cherish Friendship
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - Bloomin' Marvelous
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Cardstock - Papertrey Ink - Pure Poppy
  • Designer Paper - Simple Stories - Summer Farmhouse
  • Accessories -  Joanne's Candy Dots, Stampin Up oval punch and scallop oval punch; stitched die, banner die; Dollar Tree - Twine
  • Copic Markers - B0000; E00, E23, E25; G21, G24; R14, R29

That's it for today. Thanks Suzy for a fun kit. There is still plenty more to play with that I haven't used yet.

Spring Daffodils

Hello, my friends. Happy weekend. It's been good weather today, but it looks like we'll get some stormy weather later tonight and a rainy week coming up.

I have a card to share with you. This is for Pattie's Creations challenge. It's always Anything Goes at Pattie's Creations, but we also have the theme of Flowers. My younger brother passed away this past January and one of his favorite flowers was the daffodil. I chose this image to use for my card.

Materials Used:

  • Image - Pattie's Creations - Potted Spring Daffodils
  • Sentiment - Whiff of Joy - Spring Sentiments
  • Card stock - Stampin Up - Cucumber Crush; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - My Mind's Eye - Remarkable collection
  • Accessories - Nestabilities classic oval die; bling from my stash
  • Copic Markers - B0000; E95, E97, E99; G21, G24; Y13, Y15, Y18

That's all for today. I hope you'll pop on over to Pattie's Creations and see what the rest of the design team has created and go ahead and join in the fun.  Pattie does have a freebie image that you can use on your card since you must have a stamped or digital image on your card. There will be two winners per challenge with each winner receiving 2 images ($3.00 maximum per image) from Pattie's Etsy Store (sets are excluded). There will be a random winner from entries who used a Pattie's Creations image, and the other random winner can use ANY digital or stamped image. Good luck.

Christmas with LOTV

Hi, my friends and welcome back. It's Wednesday today. I was able to get my classwork done early so I have some free time to blog some cards and then spend some time in my craft room. Yay!

I have three Christmas cards to share. These are easy because I just have to pick a layout to use. The images are from Lili of the Valley and are pre-printed. They do not have a website anymore, but I believe you can purchase digital images on Etsy. (https://www.etsy.com/shop/LotvDigiShop) I just love their cute images. I did check out the site and these three images are available in digital format if you want to try your hand at coloring them. I used a few die cuts and some metallic thread to dress them up a bit.

This first one is called Bringing Gifts. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant, Sentiments of a Yeti. The card base and matting is Stampin Up Real Red. The Designer Paper is Carta Bella, Have A Merry Christmas.

This second one is Christmas Candle

This one is called Little Bears Christmas Tree. The card base and matting for this one is Stampin Up Chocolate Chip. I neglected to write down where the sentiment came from.

Precolored images are a lot of fun to work with. I've used a few of the LOTV rubber stamps in the past. Right now I have lots of these to work with.

Have a great day!

Flowers Feed the Soul

Hello my friends. It seems like forever since I have posted anything here. Classes have resumed so I'm busy with that and also my genealogy research side jobs. Life is good.

I do have a card to share with you today. I'm really late getting this posted. It is for the Creative Card Chicks Monthly Challenge over on SCS. Things were a little different this month and will be for the next year to come. For this year in April we did not receive a card kit from the hostess, Sue (stampinspooky). Instead we were to use our own stamps and other supplies to make a card for Spring! and using lots of spring flowers and colors. I was loving our nice spring weather until it turned colder and nasty on Sunday. It is starting to warm up again and I hope it continues to do so.

So here is my card. It was pretty simple except for fussy cutting the flower images. I love flower stamps, but wanted to use something that I've had in my stash for awhile that I have never used, so this was it.

Materials Used:

  • Images - Stampin Up - Flowering Fields
  • Sentiment - Whiff of Joy - Spring Sentiments
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Apricot Appeal
  • Designer Paper - Bo Bunny
  • Copic Markers - E23; R21; Y13, Y15, Y19; YG11, YG13; YR21, YR23, YR24

That's all for today. Hopefully I'll find some time to post some other cards that I've been finding a little time to put together. I've been using some Christmas images that are pre-colored from Lili of the Valley.

 Have a fabulous week.

Dragonflies Fly

Hello, my friends. Happy Easter weekend. Sorry I am a day late in getting this card posted for Pattie's Creations. Remember that you must always use a stamped or digital image on your card. It does not have to be a Pattie's Creations image and Pattie always has a freebie image you can use on the challenge page. This month we are using Butterflies or Dragonflies or you can use Anything Goes. We love to see whatever you create. The challenge will go through May 3 so plenty of time to get your cards in - a limit of three cards per person.

Here is my card.

Sorry, but I didn't write down the company for the sentiment. It was all pretty simple to put together. I did color the image with my Copic markers - B0000, B000; E23, E25; N3; V01, V04, V12; YG61 and YGY63.

I hope you will pop on over to see what the rest of the design team has created and we would love to see your creations. Have a wonderful Easter.

Butterfly Kisses

Hello my friends, I hope you're having a great week so far. I know there is a lot of unrest around the country and the world but hopefully we can all take some time to share some kindness and love. I'm hoping that Spring is finally on the way.

Today I have a card to share for the SCS Challenge Your Stash challenge. This is a monthly challenge where there is a hostess each month who picks the theme for the month and the rest of the group will make a card using only stamps and supplies from their stash. No new items are to be purchased to make our cards. This group has been going since 2017. This month our hostess is Sue (stampinspooky). Here challenge is Make a Black & White card with a silver embellishment, which could be silver paper, sequins, ribbons, etc.

Here is the card I created.

Materials Used:

  • Image - The Cat's Meow - Butterfly Kisses
  • Sentiment - Same as image
  • Ink - Memento - Tuxedo Black
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Silver Metallic; Whisper White
  • Designer Paper -  Graphic 45 - Patterns and Solids
  • Accessories  - silver pearls

That's it for today - No Copics or coloring. This was pretty easy once I picked out the stamp for my image. Now on to more creating.

More Club Scraps

Hello. Happy Saturday. I hope all is going well for you. It is cold and rainy here in H Town. It's time for Spring. I haven't started any spring planting yet, but did go out and got a fig tree and an avocado tree. I can't wait until they start producing fruit.

Since I've been inside out of the cold and wet, I've been working on some cards from Club Scrap. I love their layouts and fun card designs and such a variety for different occasions.

This first group is from the set call In Transit. This is not all of them there are twelve cards in the set, four of three different designs. The ones on the right have a pocket on the front with a pull out sentiment tab. They would be good for masculine cards.

This next set is the Butterfly Box with Cards.

On the right side is a box made from the kit and on the left are four different layout cards that go in the box. The set comes with enough card stock, designer paper, and embellishments to make two boxes and eight cards (four for each box). These would make lovely gifts for a girl friend. Also, you can use the instructions to make additional boxes and cards from your own card stock and designer papers.

That's it for today. I hope you have a great weekend.

Pretzel

Hello, my friends. Happy Sunday. I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend and ready for the new week. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about getting up early and going to work since I am retired. Days are getting longer now that we are in Daylight Saving Time. I know there are many that do not like the change, but if we're going to keep it at one and not change, I vote for DST. I like it staying light longer.

Well, I do have a card to share with you today. It does have a funny name - Pretzel, but that is exactly what it is.

I made this card for the Creative Card Chicks Monthly Swap. Each month there is a hostess who sends us a kit of supplies and we each make at least one card for the kit. Then we upload it on the 21st of the month. As you can tell, I am very late for February. Life gets in the way sometimes and things just don't go as planned. Terry was our hostess for February and sent some cute images. Some were images of beer mugs and I'm not a drinker, so I decided to use the pretzel images she sent for my card.

Materials Used:

Image - Tim Holtz, Beer Blueprints
Sentiment - Art Impressions - Chocolate Therapy
Card stock - Stampin Up - Real Rust
Designer Paper and bling - from Terry
Copic Markers - E09, E11, E13, E15, and E18

Thanks it for today. I hope you have a wonderful week.

I have started working on Christmas cards and have a couple to share with you. I'm going to post two of them here for the Christmas card challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. Birthday Gifts

Hello my friends. I hope you are all doing well and not being impacted by the terrible weather across the country. I am not a cold weather person, so happy to be here in the sunshine and warmer (at least for now) weather in H Town.

I do have a card to share with you today. This is for Pattie's Creations' monthly challenge. The theme for the month of March is Birthdays or Anything Goes. You must always use a stamp or digital image on your card and it does not have to be from Pattie's Creations. Pattie does provide a freebie if you want to use that for your card.

Materials Used:

  • Sentiment - Crafter's Companion - Happy Birthday

Beautiful You in Red

Hello, my friends. I hope you are having a great week. We have been having warmer weather for which I am very thankful. Did I ever say that I hate the cold. Glad that is pretty much behind us for this winter. Time to clean out the flower beds and decide if anything is being planted this year.

It's also time for the monthly Challenge Your Stash challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers. Each month there is a new hostess who gets to choose the theme for the month. Then everyone makes their card following the theme and using just things that are found in their stash. We are not to buy anything new to make our cards. Then we all post our cards on the 28th of the month. That's today. This month the theme was chosen by Jeanette (Forest Ranger). Her theme is ~~My husband Brent and I celebrated our 40th anniversary earlier this month. The color for 40th anniversaries is Ruby Red, so let's make monochromatic RED cards this month. They do not need to be anniversary cards.

It wasn't too difficult once I chose the stamp set to use.

Materials Used:

  • Image - Stampin Up -  Beautiful You
  • Sentiment - Same as imageSDA
  • Card stock - Stampin Up, Ruby Red, Whisper White
  •  Designer Paper - Basic Gray - Madeleine collection
  • Ink - Stampin Up - Red Riding Hood
  •  Accessories -  Nestabilities Die
That's it for today. Things have been a little quiet here, but hope to get back in my craft room soon.

Pure Prairie Spirit

Hello again. I'm back today with another card. I wanted to get this one in for the Power Poppy Blossom Challenge which ends in a few days. I thought I had missed it, but I didn't. The theme for this challenge is Clean Slate which means clean and simple without layers. I did that by stamping the image from the Pure Prairie Spirit stamp set directly on to the card base and inserting the sentiment up in the corner. Then I colored the image with Copic markers.

The markers I used were B0000, B00, B01; E23, E25; G21, G24; R81, R83; RV11, RV13; V20, V22; Y15, Y19, Y38; YG11, YG13, Y402, and YR04.

I love playing along in the Power Poppy challenges. Check it out. You could win a $20 gift card to her shop. What's great is that Marcy has a FREEBIE that you can get and use to enter the challenge.

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Power Poppy - Clean Slate

Some Birthday Cards

Good morning. Happy Saturday. I wish I could say it had warmed up here and to many of you it might seem warm (53*) but to me it's still cold.

Last year I bought two card kits from Club Scrap - Legacy and Regatta. I thought the Regatta cards would be good for masculine cards and the Legacy for females. I'm just getting around to posting these and the kits contained all the supplies, so nothing from my stash and no stamping or coloring.

One of the things I like about these was the different folds that they used in some of the cards. I also liked the sentiment "Congratulations on being born." Just a few fun cards to share. Hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Valentine Gnome

Good morning, my friends. Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful day. It's cold here, but probably not as cold as it is in some other places - maybe where you are. I'm allergic to the cold, so I try to stay in as much as I can! LOL!  I have my heating service guy coming this morning to replace part of a duct that was destroyed by the opossum that got in my attic the week before Christmas. I didn't know that happened until I realized that my craft room was not getting any air. I didn't connect the two until the heating technician came yesterday to check it out and found the damage. Gladly they were able to schedule me for today. It's been hard to work in that room since the temps are down in the low 60s.

I did get a card ready to share with you today. Today is the day for the Design Team to share their cards for Pattie's Creations challenge. The theme this month is Love, Love, Love or Anything Goes. Pattie always includes a freebie on the website to feel free to grab it or just make your own design. It's all good. You can enter the challenge three times so you get more chances to win. Pattie also has a discount going on at her Etsy shop so check it out. You can get 30% off.

On to my card for this month's challenge. The challenge starts today and ends on March 1. So you have a whole month to play along.

Materials Used:

  • Image - Pattie's Creations - Lovey, the Valentine Gnome
  • Sentiment - My Favorite Things - Valentines
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Real Red; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - Stampin Up Sending Love collection
  • Copic Markers - B0000; E51, E53; N0, N6, N10; R12, R17, R21

That's it for today. Have a great weekend. See you back soon.

Party Girl

Hello, my friends. Happy weekend. I hope everything is going well.

Today I have a card to share with you for the Splitcoast Stampers - Challenge Your Stash challenge group. This is the sixth year of that this challenge has been going. Barb (barbaralynn) is our leader who started the group and is also the hostess for the month of January 2023. Each month the hostess picks a theme and then everyone in the group makes a card using only those items found in their stash. No new purchases are supposed to be  used in making our cards. The theme that Barb chose for us to use this month is - Happy New Year and Happy Anniversary for 6 years of this group. Make a celebration card that has metallic on it.

This month I've used an old stamp I've had for many years and have never used. This is Julie Nutting's Party Girl.

Materials Used:

  • Image and Sentiment - Julie Nutting - Party Girl
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Taken With Teal; Teal Metallic; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - Stampin Up - Picture Perfect Party
  • Accessories - Enamel Dots
  • Copic Markers - BG11, BG15; E50, E51, E53; RV63, RV 66; Y15, Y18

Christmas Classics

Hello, my friends. Happy Thursday. We are having a lovely sunshiny day today although the temps are rather cold. I'm staying in for the most part although I did make a trip to the dry cleaners and then treated myself to some Crumbl cookies! Yummy!

Today I have the last of my 2022 Card Kit swaps that I received. This one is from Barb (barbaralynn) who is also our leader and keeps us all on track. These were simple, but fun to create.

The images are from Northwood Rubber Stamps. There is no name for the designer paper and the enamel dots and sequins are from her stash. I used my Copic markers to color in the images. G24 and R37 for Ho Ho Ho and E23, G24, R14, R27, Y17, and Y35 for Noel.

Thanks to all the card kit group for the fun kits. Can't wait for the 2023 kits to start coming.

Frosty Friends

Hello, friends. Happy Tuesday. Wow! What a weather day. There was severe weather over to the west of where I live, but luckily, we didn't get any of it except one or two claps of thunder and a couple heavy downpours of rain. A girlfriend got heavy rain all day at her house. It is all cleared off now and even got a bit of blue sky before clouds and darkness have starting rolling in for the night. I hope you are all safe from the wintery storms rolling across the U.S.

I have two cards to share with you today. The stamp set was sent to me from Tracie (tclary) who is one of the members of the card kit swap group I belong to. These are from the kits I received back in October. The stamp set is called Frosty Friends from PhotoPlay.

I used Stampin Up Cranberry Crisp cardstock for the base and mats on the cards. It is an older color and I can't believe I still had a few pieces of the cardstock since it went so well with the designer paper. The designer paper is from Carta Bella, Christmas Market collection. The embellishments are from Tracie's stash. I used just a few Copic markers to color the images - B0000; G21; N6; R17, R46; and Y17.

That's it for today. I have two more cards to share from another kit. I'll be back tomorrow to showcase them.

Snowman Roundabout

Hello, my friends. Happy Monday. I hope you all have a great week. We are supposed to get some severe weather tomorrow so I hope we all stay safe. I hear that it is moving across the states.

I have some cards to share today. These are from a card kit swap that I belong to on Splitcoast Stampers. There are six of us in the group and each month is assigned to one of the members which means we each have two months out of the year (one in each half). For our month we get to choose the theme we want and then the five other members send that person a card kit for that theme. The kit includes images and sometimes sentiments, designer paper, and all kinds of embellishments that they want to include. It's always exciting to see what is in your kit. These cards are from my second month last year which was in October. My theme was Christmas. These did not get done in time to use them for my Christmas cards last year so they'll get put away for my cards for 2023.

This card was from a kit sent by Terry (terry serman). She sent a bunch of images and fun ribbons and other embellishments. I only made one card so far, so I have tons more stuff to play with.

The image is from Newton's Nook and the designer paper is from Stampin Up Penguin Playmates. It goes so well with the images. I used SU Tranquil Tide for the card base and the mat. I also used some tiny snowflakes around the circle sentiment. I colored the image with Copics - B63; BG53, BG57; G21; N6; R17; YR02.

I'll be back with a few more cards.

You Warm My Heart - CCC Monthly Challenge

Hello my friends. I hope you are all doing well this January weekend. I hope the weather is not so bad where you are. We are having a kind of rainy day with cool temps. I am so looking forward to spring. It can't come soon enough for me, but we still have to get through February and we have had hard freezes during February over the last two years. I'm hoping that we can break that cycle this year. We already had a pretty hard freeze over Christmas.

I have a card to share with you today. This is for the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Card Chicks Monthly Challenge. This month we were only given a theme to work with, no kit as we usually do. Our hostess this month was Debby (littledeb). Her challenge was to make a card using a snowman as the image. We were also supposed to use blues and purples and snowflakes. I got the blues okay, but missed the purples. Oh well. I think I did pretty good.

Materials Used:

  • Image - Inky Antics - Warm and Wonderful Snowmen
  • Sentiment - Same
  • Card Stock - Slimline base; Xpress It Blending Card foraA images
  • Designer Paper - Whimsy Stamps - Frozen
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Accessories  - Recollections - Snowflakes, bling
  • Copic Markers - B0000; C0; G21; E23; N6; R27, R39; YR02, YR04

That's it for today.

Winter Wishes

Hello, my friends. I hope you are all staying safe and well and having a Happy New Year. Welcome to 2023!

I'm here today with another card for Pattie's Creations. It always is posted on the first Friday of every month. You must use a digital or stamped image on your card. It does not have to be one of Pattie's Creations, but you should hop on over to her Etsy shop and check out all her cute designs. If you do use one of her images, you have an extra entry for the challenge. Check Pattie's challenge blog for all the details for entries and being a winner. The theme for this month's challenge is Snow/Snowmen or Anything Goes so anyone can play along with the challenge.

I used one of Pattie's creations for my card - Winter Snow Globe printed on XPress it Blending Card. The sentiment is from Power Poppy - Cozy Cupfuls stamp set and stamped on Stampin Up Whisper White.
