Old School - CYS

Hello my friends and Happy FRIDAY! I hope you have been having a good week and looking forward to the weekend. I know I am. It's been kind of a stressful week here. As far as school goes and getting my genealogy business going, I've been working on my webpage trying to get it ready to launch. Not a lot on it yet, but I want to make sure it looks good and will attract the clients. To make matters even more fun, my email got hacked yesterday and I had all kinds of friends and acquaintances calling me about it. It was a phishing scam where someone was trying to get people to send them money. Luckily, as far as I know, it didn't work. My friends were all too smart to get caught up in that scam, but I had plenty of phone calls from people wanting to know what it was all about. That led to having to change my password on my computer and then on my phone. I still haven't been able to get my phone emails to work the way they used to and the provider support was not much support after all. I'm still working on that and hope that I can get it back in working condition soon.

Now, on to the card of the day. This is one that I did for the Challenge Your Stash group on Splitcoast Stampers. Each month we are given a theme to use and then we each make a card using our own stash supplies - no buying anything new to make this card. It all comes just from our stash. This month our hostess was Jen (jennifrann on SCS) and the theme she gave us was Old School" - old school techniques or supplies and/or images that remind you of the old days. This set I found in one of my stamp drawers from Graphic 45 that I purchased ages ago I thought was perfect.

Materials Used:
  • Image and Sentiment - Graphic 45 Primer 2
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Kraft and Very Vanilla
  • Ephemera - October Afternoon
  • Copic Markers - B01, B04; E00, E01, E02, E21, E23, E40; E53; R05, Y13, Y18, YR02, YR07
I'm thinking this could make a cute child's birthday card or just a thinking of you card.

I am submitting this card for the following challenges:

Colour Crazy Craft - Anything Goes
QKR Stampede - Anything Goes
Krafty Chicks - All Occasion
Lavinia World - Anything Goes

Color Me Happy - IAS #77

Hello everyone. Happy Monday. I hope it's been a great day for you. It started out kind of gray and foggy but turned out pretty nice. Classes this week are not so bad, so I'm hoping to have some free time to play in my stamp room.

I have one card to share with you today. This is one that I made for the International Art & Soul group. The theme is "Follow the Sketch" chosen by DT member Christine. It was pretty easy once I figured out all the pieces to it.

This is the sketch we would like you to follow,  you can flip it, turn it around, be as creative as you want.  All we ask is that the end creation recognizably follows the sketch.

Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer - IAS #76

Hi, my friends. I am terribly late with getting my post up for this challenge. It's been a very busy week and I just didn't have time. Of course, Sunday was the Super Bowl and I was at my daughter's house for a little party. It was fun with lots and lots of good things to eat. During the week is always busy with school work. I hope you are having a great week and the weather isn't too bad for you.

Today I have a card for the International Art & Soul challenge. The theme is to create a project (card or otherwise) with the theme of A Favorite Song. That gives you plenty of leeway for creativity. I am still on a roll with making Christmas cards for 2020. I just haven't been able to get away from all the fun stamps and papers that I still have. I have had this stamp set for some time along with the die. It came in an issue of Papercraft. I love those issues where they give you free things.

Materials Used:
  • Images - Majestic Moments
  • Sentiment - computer generated
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Real Red; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - American Crafts - The Color of Memories collection
  • Copic Markers - B12; E000, E00, E01, E23, E40; G03, R46, Y19
The lights hanging off his horns is also a stamp in the collection. the bigger lights were cut from the designer paper.

That's it for today. I hope you will pop on over to IAS and see what the rest of the Design Team has created. Feel free to join in the fun. You could be picked as the "Winner" or one of the "Top 3." Have fun and enjoy!
