Beachin' - CYS June

Hello, my friends. I hope you are enjoying your Sunday! It is still a little weird not having to go to church on Sunday. I tend to forget even more what day it is. I know that today is June 28 so it is the day I get to post my card for the Challenge Your Stash challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. Each month one of the members picks a theme and then we all create a card using only those items we already own in our stash. Use it up! For me, it's using stuff I bought ages ago and have not used it yet. It's always fun to see what I have in my craft room.

This month our hostess is Kari (pigtaill1 on SCS). Her choice of theme was to make a card with the theme of the beach. I must say it has been a very long time since I have gone to the beach and it doesn't look like I will be going anytime soon.

I had fun putting this one together. I used the designer paper to replicate the beach and then fussy cut the images out and popped up the sentiment on some dimensionals.

Materials used:
  •  Image - Great Impressions - Mabel & Vera Beachin and Sun and Clouds
  • Sentiment - Gina K Designs - My Island
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Whisper White; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - American Crafts - Ready, Set, Go collection
  • Copic Markers - B0000, B01, B21; E02, E11, E13, E23; E40; E50, E51, E53; BV00, BV01; G000, G21, G24; R08, R20, R21; Y13, Y15, Y18; YR01, YR02, YR04.
Thanks Kari for a great theme. So timely.

Fairy Ring - CCC - June

Hello again. I have yet another card to share today. This one is also for the Creative Card Chicks challenge on SCS. This one is for the month of June. Our hostess this month was Suzy and she sent us this adorable Fairy image with lots of fun goodies to dress it up.

I do love fairies and flowers so this was a fun image to color up. It had a lot going on as well as the background paper so I didn't add much to it except a twist of twine around two corners. The image is Mine Fairy Ring from Outliners Rubber Stamps which is now closed. The designer paper is from DCWV - The Floral Fair. I picked the sentiment from my collection - Stampin Up Really Good Greetings. The card is layered on SU Melon Mambo cardstock.

I used my Copic Markers to color the image - BV0000; E04, E08, E40, E41, E42; G0000, G21; RV10, RV11, RV14; Y11, Y13.

Most Wonderful Time - CCC - May

Good morning friends. Yes, I am just a little late (about a month) getting this card posted. I've had it finished for some time, just didn't have a chance to get to blogger. This card was made for the May Creative Card Chicks challenge on SCS. Each month the hostess sends the rest of the group a card kit with images, papers, embellishments for us to use in making a card or two. In May our hostess was Vikki Jo, and she sent us a fun Christmas card kit. I can never have enough Christmas cards.

The image, sentiment, and designer paper all came from the Stampin Up Most Wonderful Time collection from 2019. I used a card base of Stampin Up Red Riding Hood and some red bling and a slice of gold ribbon to set it off. I colored the image with my Copic markers - E30, E31, E37, E40 and a bit of 100.

I hope you have a lovely week. We are having some rumbles of thunder here right now.

Spring Friends - IAS #86

Hello my friends, and Happy Sunday. Happy Father's Day to husbands, brothers, uncles, sons, cousins. I hope you are all doing well as we move into the summer season and still wearing masks and social distancing. Numbers have gone up recently here in Texas so be careful out there.

Today I am sharing a card for the International Art & Soul fortnight challenge. The theme of this challenge is Blue as the Main Color, which was chosen by our DT Teamie, Jane. I must admit that blue has not always been a favorite color of mine, but it tends to grow on you. I wanted my card to be festive and summery, so I chose a pretty image with flowers. I've gotten away from using flowers on my cards lately and really want to use them more.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Kraftin Kimmie - Spring Friends
  • Sentiment - One of my Cardmaker magazines
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Bayou Breeze; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - My Mind's Eye - Gnome Sweet Gnome
  • Accessories - Classic Circle Die; Scallop Die; blue seam binding ribbon; Recollections and Prima - Flowers; Leaf Die
  • Copic Markers - B0000, B000, B00, B02; E50, E51, E53; G21, G24; R20, R21, R46; T4, T10; Y11, Y15, Y23
As the sentiment says, I hope your day is great and that you'll take a few minutes and pop on over to the International Art & Soul challenge page to see what the rest of the design team has created. Get your stamps and inks out and create something and join in the fun. You could be chosen as the winner or one of the Top 3.
