Think Peaceful Thoughts

Hello, my friends Happy Sunday. I hope you are all doing well. I went and got my 2nd COVID booster yesterday afternoon. No problems, just a sore arm. It took four hours for it to get sore after the injection. The pharmacist was great. It was just a really quick stab and done. I will be wearing a mask to church tomorrow though. We have a number of members who have come down with COVID and I don't want to take any chances. I may not stay for Sunday School though. I also have a really good friend that got it. She called me the other day to chat and told me she was over it but her husband now has it. Is it ever going to end????????

I have another card to share with you today. This one is for the International Art & Soul challenge where I am on the Design Team. The theme for this challenge is 4 Legged Friends. Of course, mine had to be a kitty. Doesn't he look like he's thinking peaceful thoughts, hoping his master won't get angry at him.

Materials Used:

  • Image - Whimsey Stamps - Love Me Anyway
  • Sentiment - Power Poppy
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Going Gray

  • Copic Markers - C8; E02, E04, E08; G21; Y15, Y18; R00, W00, W1, W3

I hope that you will pop on over to the IAS Challenge and see all the great creations that the rest of the Design Team have made for your inspiration. Then join in the fun and create your own card or scrapbook layout, or whatever crafty thing you like to do, just remember to follow the theme - 4 Legged Friends.  See you next time.

Happy Birthday Sweetie

Hello again my friends. I am trying to play catch up with a bunch of cards I've been working on lately. I am part of a Card Kit Swap group on Splitcoast Stampers. There are six of us in the group. At the start of the year, we all decided what kind of theme we would like to receive our card kits for. Over the year, we will receive two kits from each of the other members. So that will be ten card kits over the year. We also picked the two months when we wanted to receive our kits. My first month was April and then it will be my month again in October. My theme for my April cards was birthdays. Wow! I got a bunch of really cool stuff from the others in the group. I only made one card from each kit to start with, but I have tons of stuff in all the kits to make tons more cards when I have more time.

Materials Used:

  • Image - Inky Antics - Worldly Women
  • Sentiment - Same
  • Cardstock -Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Stampin Up Pink Pirouette
  • Designer Paper - First Edition - Let's Celebrate collection
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Accessories -  Flowers and ribbon from Terry's stash
  • Copic Markers - B0000; E23, E50, E51, E53; G21; R20, R21, R22; Y15, Y23

That's it for today. I'll be back tomorrow with the next kit. Thanks also to Terry for sending the extra stamp set. Can't wait to use that one too.

Kitty and Friend

Another card that I am late posting. This card is for the Challenge Your Stash challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. Each month there is a hostess who picks the theme for the card making. Our hostess for May was Shelly and her theme was to use a bird on our card. I didn't have just a plain bird, but I found this cute stamp that I've not used before so thought I would ink it up. It does have a little bird. This was supposed to be posted on the 28th of May, but life gets in the way as well as school so I'm late, but better late than never.

Materials Used:

  • Image - Joann Sheen - Very Best Wishes
  • Sentiment - Same as image
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Barely Banana; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - Authentique - Blissful collection
  • Copic Markers - B0000; E31, E33; Y13, YG61, YG63; W1, W2, W3, and W4

This card was made for the Power Poppy Blossom Challenge. We are to use a Power Poppy image of a spring blossom.

Twirley Pinwheel Birthday

Hello again. I am so much late getting this card finished. I made it for the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Card Chicks Monthly Challenge. I had some challenges getting this one made. Each month there is a hostess who chooses the theme and sends the rest of the group a card kit with images, sentiments, embellishments to make at least one card. For May, Sue (stampinspooky) was our hostess. Her kit included some Pinwheel dies instead of images. It took me some time to figure out a layout for my card.

Materials Used:

  • Image - Pinwheel Sizzlet Die
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - Wishes Your Way
  • Cardstock -  Stampin Up - Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
  • Designer Paper - Stampin Up Summer Smooches
  • Accessories - Stampin Up Daffodil Yellow ribbon, sequins

It was easy to put this together once I figured out a layout and no Copic Markers used.

Happy Birthday Hot Stuff

Hello, my friends. Happy Sunday. I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted on here. Life has been crazy the last few weeks. For one thing, my computer got hacked and I was the victim of a scam. It is scary stuff. I was able to get my laptop checked out by the Geek Squad and they were able to remove the malware that was loaded on it. I do feel a little safer, but after something like this, it's hard to know who to trust.

Classes have been going well and only six more weeks to this semester. Then a short summer break before fall classes start up again.

Earlier this month, my son-in-law celebrated his birthday. I won't say which one, but he's getting up there. He does like to BBQ and I thought this stamp set would be great for his birthday card.

Materials Used:

  • Image - Inky Antics - BBQ Time
  • Sentiment - same
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Lemon Lime Twist; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - Stampin Up - Bubbles and Fizz
  • Accessories - Stampin Up sequins
  •  Copic Markers -E23; E40; E50, E51, E53; W1, W3, W4, W6; Y15, Y18; YG61, YG63

I did dress it up a bit and wrote his name on the front of his apron free hand.
