Happy Birthday Amanda

Last Monday, April 29, was my granddaughter Amanda's Sweet 16 birthday.  She is very sweet too.  A lovely young lady.  She lives in California though with her family so I don't get to spend as much time with her as I'd like to.


Her heart's desire is to someday be a professional dancer.  She has been taking dance lessons since she was a little girl.  I think she has a dance lesson of some sort every day which keeps her mom on the road a lot picking her up from school and getting her to and from her classes.  She has 2 recitals every year - the year end one and then she also dances in Nutcracker at Christmas time.
I wanted to make a card for her that would reflect her dance as well as her beauty and grace.  I love this beautiful image and thought it would be perfect for her.

I kept it kind of simple for the trip to California.

  • Accessories:  flowers hand crocheted by a friend; Birthday charm - Oriental Trading Co.; Lace - Spare Parts - A Paper Studio; 1" and 1 1/4" circle punches; Nestabilities - Label Four; Brad is from my stash
  • Copic Markers - B0000; E31, E33, E35, E37; E50, E51, E53; R81, R83, R85.

    Happy Birthday to Amanda! She is so beautiful! My niece loves the ballet also and is 8 and has been doing it since age 2. This year I took her to see the Nutcracker at Lincoln Ctr and she loved it. Your niece is so lucky (and talented) to dance it. What a pretty card you made to mark this special birthday!! Love the daintiness of it, perfect for a ballerina!
