Easter Chick Greeting Card and Bowdabra Sponsored Giveaway

March is National Craft Month, so to celebrate, Bowdabra is honoring this special event by showcasing the many uses of ribbon! If you love ribbon crafts, be sure to visit the Bowdabra Blog daily for great craft tutorials from their design team and enter to win prizes in a contest sponsored by Bowdabra.

Easter is just about upon us, but you still have time to make a card or two to send or give to that special someone.  Here is one that I made that is easy to put together.  Just remember that you don't have to make it exactly as I did.  If you have other Easter stamps or papers, then use what you have.  Make it your own.

Materials I used.

Stamp Image and Sentiment - Stampin Up Everybunny stamp set
Cardstock - Stampin Up Barely Banana; Lavendar Lace; Xpress It Blending Paper
Pattern Paper - From my stash
Ink - Stampin Up  Lavendar Lace
Accessories:  Flower from Wild Orchid Crafts
Stampin Up - Large Tag Punch  and Label Punch
Copic Markers:  BV00, V20, R81, R83, Y19, YR15, Y02, Y04, and Y08
Bowdabra Satin and Organdy ribbon
Bowdabra Hair Bow Tool & Ruler
Double Sided Tape, Glue Dots, and Stampin Up Dimensionals

The card is a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" size.  After assembling your card to your liking, you make the bow using the Mini Bowdabra and the Hair Tool & Ruler.

1.       Begin by placing the Mini Bowdabra Ruler onto the Mini Bowdabra.   Cut 18″ of a 1/8” narrow Bowdabra ribbon and place it into the Mini Bowdabra.

2.       Place your flower with the stem into the slot of the Mini Bowdabra.  Pull it to get it as close as you can to the center.

3.        Place the organza ribbon to create a 2.5″ tail.

4.       Fold and press the ribbon into the Mini Bowdabra to form a 1.5″ loop.

5.       Continue to fold the ribbon to create a 1.5″ loop on the other side.

6.       Place your satin ribbon over the organza ribbon to create a 2” tail.
7.       Fold and press the ribbon into the Mini Bowdabra to form a 1.5” loop.

8.       Continue to fold the ribbon to create a 1.5” loop on the other side.
 9.       Scrunch down with the Mini Bowdabra Wand.

10.   While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, tie the ribbons tightly while the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra.  Gently pull the bow out of the Mini Bowdabra.  Trim the narrow ribbon close to the knot and trim the stem of the flower close to the bottom of the flower, and then trim the tails of the ribbons for a match.
11.   Adhere a large glue dot to the back of the bow and place it on your card.
 And here's the finished product.
