Spotlight Birthday - CYS May

Good morning my friends. Happy Thursday. At least I think it's Thursday. It's really hard to keep track of the days while being stuck at home and each day seems to be just like the last one. With our church also being closed, I don't get that break in the week anymore. I don't know about you, but my days are all racing right along. It goes by so fast. Of course, there's always school and that has been keeping me extra busy. This semester I'm learning how to do research in the British Isles. Very interesting, but also a lot of work.

On to my card.  This month the Challenge Your Stash theme was picked by Sue (stampinspooky on SCS). Her theme was to use the spotlight technique. If you don't know what that is, you stamp your image and then pick an area of the image that you want to spotlight. Then you stamp another of the same image and color just part of it that is where you want to highlight and cut out that part and paste it over the uncolored image so that one part is spotlighted. It's a lot of fun and I really like how this one turned out. I need a masculine birthday card for June, so this is going to be it.

Materials Used:
  • Image - CC Designs - Gone Fishing
  • Sentiment - Stamp & Cut - Birthday
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Cardstock - Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up So Saffron
  • Designer Paper - Bo Bunny - Et Cetera Collection
  • Accessories: Happy Die; Stampin Up Window punch
  • Copic Markers - E23; G12; W3; Y11, Y13, Y15
That's all I've got for now. I hope you are doing well wherever you are and that you are staying safe.

  3. Oh, my word, what a beautiful image whether colored or not! Love the background paper with it and the single "happy". I feel happy looking at this! A lot of bloggers have mentioned how the days are speeding by. Funny how we find so much to do even with limited activity outside the home. There aren't enough hours in the day for me!

  4. I haven't seen a spotlight card in some time! Love your color choices. Hang in there! If it weren't for a friend's cats tweeting the day every day or trying to get back to blogging, I'd be lost too. LOL Creative Blessings!
