Birthday Hummingbird - CCC

Hello, my friends. Happy Saturday. At least this week has not been snowy or icey. That last week was a doozer! We are starting to warm up a bit and I'm certainly liking that. Of course, my yard looks a mess with all the dead plants and frostbitten shrubs and trees. My grapefruit tree took a real hit. It looks terrible, but they are saying to wait until late Spring to cut it back so I'm waiting. My gardenia bush also looks pathetic. I'm hoping that the roots are still good and that they will both recover. Covering the shrubs and plants even with freeze cloth did not do a bit of good. At least I did not have any damage to my house from burst pipes.

I did get a card made for the Creative Card Chicks monthly challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers. Our hostess this month was VikkiJo and she sent us some adorable images. So far I have picked this one to make my card. Besides butterflies, I love hummingbirds. .It's almost time for them to be coming through this area on their migration. I usually only have a couplel that come to my feeder, but I love seeing them.

All the materials were sent in the kit by VikkiJo except for the cardstock. I chose to use Stampin Up Tranquil Tide for my card. The image is from House Mouse, Bird Watching stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on SU Whisper White. The lovely designer paper is also from SU - Flowers for Every Season collection as well as the sentiment from the SU Any Time Greetings stamp set. I finished it off with a bit of twine from the kit.

That's it for now. I hope everyone is staying safe and social distancing. Hopefully, we'll get through this pandemic sooner than later.

  3. How prettily you colored this! The hummingbird is gorgeous and the paper is so lovely with the image. I'm glad you're recovering from that awful freeze which was so unusual for your area. I hope your plants and tree survive.
