Today's card is for the Sunshine Mail Foundation. If you don't know about them, please check out their blog. Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Designs
They have some great digital stamps to choose from.
One of the blogging groups I belong to is Stamp Addcits! And yes, we are! Each month we have a TAT- Try a Technique. This month the technique was the "Salt" technique. I must say that I wasn't too crazy about this one, but I did give it a go. The idea is that you take some glossy cardstock and smear reinker all over it with your Aqua Brush. Then you sprinkle salt on top of that and then mist it with your trusty mister! Let it dry or use your heat tool to dry it quicker. Since I needed to have it done for today (I made this last night), I used my heat tool. After it's dry, brush the salt off the c/s and see what you get. I don't think mine worked all that well and I may give it another try with not so coarse salt. Anyway, at least I can say that I did it. ;) Here's my Salty card.
I really love the way the image turned out.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous card Maggie & your coloring is AWESOME!!!!! Good luck in the football pool!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think your salty background turned out great! I haven't tried this technique, but techniques can certainly be fun sometimes. Your Copic colored image almost looks like watercolor. I love that! Neither one of us watches football here. Sometimes I enter a pool, but not this time. I declared today a personal day (actually I called it a Mommy Day). No housework, laundry, or errands -- just hoping to get some Valentines done. Enjoy your weekend!
