Amanda

Hello again my friends.  It's Wednesday and time for another Perfect Sentiment challenge.  I had a really hard time getting a good picture of this one, so forgive me if it's not so great.  I tried it on a white background and it just faded out the whole card so I had to tone it up a bit.

This week were were to design a card with any occasion sentiment we chose (must be on the front of the card).  The twist was to use this sketch.
I turned the sketch upside down for my card and after that, it pretty much went together very easily.
One of my granddaughters is having a birthday soon and she is a dancer.  She's been dancing ever since she was very little and she's finishing up her Freshman year in High School.  I've had this stamp for awhile and thought I'd finally ink it up and design a card for her.  I cut the image out and popped her up on the background mat which is from my new Cricut cartridge - Elegant Edges.  I was challenged by our leader - Jennipher to use this now that I had it.

Materials used for this card:
  • Image - Marci from La La Land Crafts; sentiment - Stampin Up - Year Round Cheer
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride; XPress It Copic Blending Paper
  • Designer Paper - Jodie Lee - Fairy Belle Collection
  • Ink - Memento London Fog; SU Blushing Bride
  • Cricut cartridge - Elegant Edges
  • Ribbon - SU Pretty in Pink Taffeta
  • Doily - Martha Stewart
  • Punches - 1 1/4" round, 1 1/2" round, Martha Stewart Butterfly
  • Roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
  • SU Dimensionals and SU pearls
  • Copic markers:  B000; E30, E31, E35, E37 for hair; E50, E51, E53 for skin; G20, G24; R00, R01, R20, and R30.

  6. Hi Margaret. I love her! She reminds me of my niece who has been dancing since age 2. She is now 7 and still that baby ballerina to me. I have a question...What is the easiest way to find a Copic Marker class? Is there a group of instructors who teach, or is it best to start with a book? I love the markers, but don't color well. Any idea where I should start? Thanks.

    1. Hi Winnie. Thanks for your comment. I had someone ask me this question just yesterday. I have never taken an online class, but here is a link to Suzanne Dean's blog. She has online classes, and is a fabulous Copic's teacher. http://www.scrapbitz.blogspot.com/ You can also visit Marianne Walker's blog at http://ilikemarkers.blogspot.com/ Marianne is the Guru of Copic Instructors. You can also go to Google and search for Copic You Tube videos. There are a ton of them. Hope this helps. Other than that, it's just a lot of practice.
