Postage Due - CCC

Hi my friends. The 21st has come and gone. That's the day I was supposed to be getting this posted but I happened to be out of town this past weekend in San Antonio with my two daughters. They treated me to a girls' weekend for my birthday. It was fabulous. The weather was perfect and we three had a great time. Lots to do there and we only did a drop in the bucket. A river cruise along the Riverwalk was first, then the Alamo and the Tower of the Americas. Went to the Majestic Theater (beautiful) to see The King and I and then a trip to Market Square. In between these events was lots of walking and eating!  The car stayed parked in the garage the whole time and lucky we had great weather with all the walking we did.

Back to the real world. Today I have a card for the Creative Card Chicks Monthly Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Our hostess for this month is Sue aka stampinspooky. I must say this kit was a challenge for me, but once I thought about it and moved things around, it came together.
The stamps are from a Stampin Up set called Postage Due. I used Tangerine Tango for my card base and mat. The border was sent in the kit cut from the same color cardstock. The designer paper is from Stampin Up Venetian Romance. The butterflies came in the kit, but I added the bling to the large one and along the upper right edge. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this one yet, so I didn't add a sentiment to the front. I'll figure that out later and put it on the inside.

Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Love your card Maggie - the orange fits the image beautifully, and I love the punched border and bling.
So glad you had a wonderful birthday weekend

  5. What a birthday! It sounds fantastic, and all the great food you ate got walked right off. Yes, back to the real world now. That's how I feel after our quiet time away from it all. I love being home, but dang I've been busy since we got back. You did a good job with this card kit. I'd probably have a hard time with it, too, even though the stamp and all the parts are really pretty. I never quite know what to do with collage type things. Glad you had a happy birthday!
