Wishful Asha - Outlawz

Hello, Happy Sunday. It's been a really busy week - so much going on. The weather has been pretty good although we did get some rain. Expect some more the early part of this week too. At least I won't have to water the plants for awhile. I did find one more caterpillar on one of my Milkweed plants today. I noticed that one plant had all its leaves eaten off, so I knew there was one somewhere and found it nibbling on another plant. Now that I have my new butterfly hutch I was able to put a couple pots of Milkweed in there and then break off the piece that he caterpillar was on and put it in one of the pots, so hopefully it will have enough to eat in there. Hoping it will survive and make it's chrysalis so I'll have another butterfly to release.

I was hoping to get this card done before this, but  I always seem to be last minute. This is for The Outlawz Progressive Freebie challenge. If you haven't played yet, come on over and join in. Each month after you sign up, you'll be sent a free digital image to use in the next month's challenge. All you have to do is use it to make a card and post it on the website. I used some of the techniques for the skin and hair that I learned at the Copic's Workshop last weekend. I still need tons of practice, but I do like how she turned out.

Purrcedes - OSAAT #244

Hello my friends and happy Sunday. I hope you are all doing well. We have finally started getting some much-needed rain again. The last 2 months have been so hot and dry. We've had the HOTTEST July on record this year. The rain was very welcome.

This weekend I had a fun time. I attended 3 Copic Marker workshops - More Whimsical Faces & Hair; Values & Mono Tones and Dress for Success Coloring Clothing & Accessories. Michelle Houghton was our instructor.
I've been able to take a class every year and each time I learn something new and different and get to meet new people. I hope over the months to come I'll be able to put some of my new learning into use with my cards.

Now on to the business at hand.  This week at One Stitch at a Time our theme is Anything Goes With Our Four-Legged Friends.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Floppy Latte - Purrcedes
  • Sentiment - Floppy Latte - Purrcedes

Sweet Treats - Minty Ice Cream Cone - OSSAT #243

Hello, my friends.  How are all of you doing?  It's hot as blazes down here in H Town. We sure could use some of that rain we had way back a few months ago. I can barely stand to be outside at all. I did go out and work a little in my flower gardens and worked with my Milkweed plants trimming them up to get more plants for the Monarch butterflies to breed on. I was so excited this past week to have 3 of them hatch out of their cocoons and become beautiful Monarch butterflies. Now I think I may have a few more caterpillars on some new plants. I've got them tented, so I hope they'll be safe while they grow.

Well, on to my card for this fortnight's challenge over at One Stitch At A Time!  Our challenge for you this time is Anything Goes With Sweet Treats!  Yummy!  Here's mine.

The image is Minty Ice Cream Cone from Crafty Girl Designs. I used The Sweet Stack collection from DCWV and cut out some of the words on one of the sheets of dp for the sentiments. Then just added some pearls and some White Opal liquid pearls for the ice cream.  Copic Markers - E31, E33, E35. R22, R24, R27. I had used some markers for the M&M, but the liquid pearls kind of overpowered them, so I punched some circles out of c/s and put the M&M on them and glued them in the place where the original ones were.

Our sponsor this time is of course, our own Stitchy Bear Outlet Store and the prize pack this month for one lucky winner is :

I hope you'll hop on over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done and then get yourself inky and join in the fun. You could be the lucky winner or one of our Top 3!  Good luck!

Raggedy Ann - Monthly Challenge - July

Finally, my last card for the Monthly Challenge group for now. Waiting to see what we get for August. The Monthly Challenge is a group on Splitcoast Stampers. Each month one of the members sends a kit to the rest of the group including images, some dp, and embellishments. Then each member makes at least one card from the kit and sometimes more than that. Sometimes the Hostess has guidelines that we are supposed to follow. It's always fun and interesting to see what each member makes from the same kit. July's kit was sent to us by Kelly (Miamikel on SCS). I loved the story that she wrote us about why she picked this image. So sweet. She's always loved Raggedy Ann. She sent us a lot of red, white, and blue papers and embellishments. Oh, another favorite of Kelly's is buttons!  We were supposed to use buttons on our card and decorate the inside of the card. Well, I got one out of two anyway, LOL! Maybe I'll decorate it before I mail it off to someone.

It took me some time to figure out a good layout for this, but finally came up with this one. The buttons were in the kit and you can hardly see the red/white twine that I used for the blue button.

Materials used all from the kit:
  • Image - Crafting Desert Divas - Sew Raggedy
  • Sentiment - same as image
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Real Red for the base; Recollections - Blue for mat
  • Designer Paper - Core'dinations-blue w/white dots; DVWV - red gingham
  • Accessories - Sew-ology - buttons; The Twinery - red/white twine
  • Copic Markers - B21, B23; C1; E0000, E01, N5, N7, N9; R24, R27

Right At Home - Monthly Challenge for June

Okay, here is post number 3 for today. Another card for the Monthly Challenge Group on Splitcoast Stampers.

This is the card for June and was sent by Debby (also Debby on SCS).  The image is from a retired Stampin Up set called Right at Home. Debby's challenge was to make a large card (she sent us the card base and an envelope for it) from Paper Studio.
Other Materials
  • Dark Turquoise for mats - Cartulina from Reflections and also Blue Tan Plaid and Tan Pindots; Chocolate Chip cardstock for the border; and Chocolate Chip ink for the sentiment.
  • Border punch, twine, and sentiment also from Debby's kit.
  • Round punch and scallop punch
  • Copic Markers - BG02, BV11, E18, E42, E81; G43, G46; R46; R81, R85; V01, W4, W6, Y28
These remind me of homes in San Francisco up on the hill.

Lazy Days of Summer - Monthly Challenge May

Here is  my second post for today for the Monthly Challenge. This card is from the May kit send by Dody (Beachbound on SCS). Dody's challenge was to make a card in 30 minutes or less. The image was already colored, so I didn't have to take time for that. All the ingredients of the card were from the kit except for the card base which we always provide for ourselves.

What more can I say about this. I love this stamp set from Stampin Up and it's one that I don't think I could ever part with. The colors were so soft and I wanted to keep it that way. I used Going Gray cardstock for the base and the image mat.

Rain Girl - Monthly Challenge April

Hi my friends and Happy Sunday. I have 4 posts today for you. I'm catching up on my Monthly Challenge cards from April. Yikes! It's been tough keeping up. 2 of the cards I had finished awhile back, but hadn't blogged them.

My first card is from April's kit from Jeanette (Forest Ranger on SCS). She wanted us to do some paper piecing and to decorate the inside of the card. Sadly I don't have a photo of the inside that I did, but it is just the sentiment on a piece of the corrugated paper that is on the left side of the outside of the card.

I used all the items in the kit for this card and included the bright yellow fabric flower for the sun. I only used a few Copic markers for her skin, hair, umbrella handle, and her shirt.

Copic Markers - E31, E34, E25; E50, E51, E53; YG01, YG61
