Merry and Bright

Hi Friends and Happy New Year! I hope yours has been good so far.  Mine not so much. I've been sick since last Tuesday. Started out with a scratchy throat which got worse and then fever, cough, lots of blowing of the nose, sinus pain, and a still sore throat! That is up until today. I have to tell you this in the hopes that it might help one of you one day. A dear friend who moved 6 years ago to Arkansas has been in town helping her daughter and was able to come by to see me today. As we were chatting and catching up on things I mentioned about the sore spot on my throat and the throbbing sinus pain. So she reached into her purse and pulled out a box of Silver Lozenges. That's what they are called. They are made with Colloidal Silver. I've read online that there is no scientific proof that CS can ward off disease or fight infection, but I am proof that it does do that job. As I was sucking on that lozenge, I could actually feel the soreness going away in my throat and later the pain in my sinus lessened and stopped throbbing. I was sure I was going to have to make another trip to the doctor, but I seem to be on the mend finally. Terrible part about all this was that this was supposed to be my 4-day weekend vacation. Boo!  Didn't get to go anywhere, but I did spend some time getting my stamp room cleaned up and organized. It's almost done and you would NOT recognize it from before. I did pull some things out of there and boxed them up either for storage, to sell, or to toss. I will figure that out later.

Anyway, in December, The Outlawz started a new challenge called the Progressive Freebie monthly challenge. All we had to do was sign up and we were sent a free image to use. Then we had to use the image to make a card to enter the challenge which I did. I just haven't had the change to actually to do the blog post for it until now.  The image is from Simply Betty Stamps.

  1. Ok, so where do you get those lozenges! Those would be great to have on hand just in case you come down with the throat/sinus problems! Glad you're feeling better. Nice to get the craft room cleaned up but not good that you didn't get to enjoy your break more.

Your card is so darling! Fantastic coloring Maggie!! I also love the design. Very, very pretty card.

  8. Well, isn't this cute and festive! I love how you used the ornament die cut for the image. Great idea! I'm sorry to hear your 4 day weekend didn't turn out so well. I'll remember what you shared so I can ward off the bug if it hits me. So far no sickness in our family yet this winter, thank goodness.
