Newspaper Man - OSAAT 190

Hi my friends! I hope you're doing well.  We had a little bit of a cold spell this week, but it has warmed up again.  Well, in spite of a flat tire and getting lost and driving round and round for an hour, I had a great time last weekend.!  LOL!   I was up in Dallas at the Copic Color & Ink Workshops event.  We learned about so many different techniques using those Copic markers and reinkers.  It was also great to see Colleen Schaan again and to meet Cindy Lawrence, both super nice and seeing Colleen again was like meeting up with an old friend

This week at One Stitch at a Time the theme is to Use a Digi - any project as long as you use a digi image.  Our sponsor this week is our own StitchyBear Digi Outlet with the prize of the complete set of images that the DT used in challenge #188.  To win the main prize you MUST use an Image from our store.  Runner up prize for a person using non store image is $3 to spend in the StitchyBear Digital Outlet.  So everyone can win something.

Over the coming weeks or months, I'll be talking about some of the things that we learned at the workshops, as I hopefully incorporate them into my work.  On Friday night after all our workshops, we had a critique session with some of the ladies at the workshops along with Cindy and Colleen.  I tell you this because it impacts my card.  I took the image that I was working on for this card so that I could get some feedback on the coloring.  I wish I had taken a photo of it before because after I got home, I reworked it and it turned into the image I used on this card.

Knowing what it looked like before, I think it turned out pretty good on the second try.  And I'm really not so great at doing masculine cards.  I really think it needs something more, but couldn't figure out what.  The layout I used was SC388.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Stitchy Bear - Pookie Designs - Daily News
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - Wonky Wishes
  • Cardstock - Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up Cool Caribbean

Pop on over to the OSAAT challenge blog and see what the other Design Team member have to inspire you.  I hope you'll join us this week.  I look forward to seeing what you create.

  1. Like how you colored the image. Masculine cards are not my easiest to make and you did a wonderful job. Like how everyone has a variety of ways to show off the image.

  5. Your coloring looks super fabulous, Maggie! There is a lot I could learn from a class, I know. Masculine cards are hard for us girls. We like to pretty them up, but this one is really perfect for a guy just as it is.

  11. Sounds like a fab time! I am thinking of finding a copic class nearby after the new year, as I don't really know how to use them, and see work like yours and want to learn. Your man is so dapper, and I especially love the shadowing you did around him!

  37. This is fabulous, Maggie! The colouring is wonderful. And I know masculine cards can be a trial - especially if you're blessed with male family (like mine) who consider any embellishment to be 'frilly'!
