Welcome back to my blog and another Wednesday Perfect Sentiment Challenge. I hope you all have been having a good week. I'm still recovering from my Summer cold, but doing so much better, so much so that I've started working out again! Feels so good to be moving this old body around.
Anyway, let's get to today's card. Our challenge this week is to make a card with the Sentiment of Sympathy and the twist is to make it Clean and Simple - CAS! I'm not so good at this. I always think there is something missing when I get done and want to add more layers and more embellishments, but I stopped before it got out of hand. Hehehe!
First I stamped my image which is "Wishing You" from Papertrey Ink. The flower came in two pieces so I didn't have a problem stamping it in the two colors. Although I didn't like it so much when I first stamped it, so I went over the images with my SU markers to give it more depth. I used SU Orchid Opulence and Garden Green inks and markers. I also wanted to add a little shading to it, so I broke out my Copics and used G17, YG09, and V04 also on the image. Then I wanted to jazz it up a little bit so I used my SU Tulip Frame embossing folder to add the frame around the edge. I had the ribbon in my stash and added that to my layer with just a knot. Then adhered all of that to the SU Orchid Opulence card base. I stamped the sentiment which was from the same set as the image using SU Orchid Opulence ink. I just knew it wasn't quite finished, so I used my 2 Martha Stewart butterfly punches and punched the solid from the Orchid Opulence and the die cut from Basic Gray Plumeria.
Our sponsor this week is Shelly's Images and she is giving 1 free digi to one lucky winner. You can't win if you don't enter!
So, next thing to do is to check out the rest of the DT and see what they've been up to. You can find them on the blog roll on the left side of my blog or hop on over to Perfect Sentiment Challenge and see all the lovely creations they've come up with. Then break out your crafting supplies and give it a go. You may end up being the winner of this week's prize or be chosen as one of the Perfect 3. Good luck!
