Paper Bloggers Unite September Challenge

Our leader, Michelle, on Paper Bloggers Unite challenged us in September to make something related to Fall.  It could be a card, scrapbook page, piece of art, just whatever struck our fancy.  I have a couple of ideas, but to start with I wanted to use this new stamp from Whiff of Joy, Fall Willow Catching Leaves.  Isn't she cute.  I remember the days when I was growing up in Pennsylvania and loved the Fall time of the year.  My brothers and sister and friends would rake up leaves and jump in them and scatter them all over just to have to rake them up again or we would take leaves and make an outline of a house and play house.  Sometimes we drafted my younger brother to come play with us.  This does bring back fond memories and I can almost (yes, almost) feel the cool weather.  Here in Texas we've been having triple digit temperatures so it doesn't really feel like Fall here yet.  A girl can dream can't she.  Jennipher also challenged me to showcase my card using a more interesting background, so I tried that also.  I used 2 sheets from the Linen Prints as a backdrop for the card.

For this card I used Whiff of Joy, Fall Willow Catching Leaves.  She is mounted on SU Cameo Coral which is mounted on SU Close to Cocas as is the sentiment.  For the base of the card I used SU Apricot Appeal and layed a piece of SU Linen Prints on top of that.  Between the base and the image, I put another piece of the Linen Prints which I matted on another piece of Close of Cocoa.  The Image was stamped using Tuxedo Memento Black as was the sentiment.  The image is colored with my Copic markers:  E000, E00, E01, E02; E31, E33, E34, E35, E37; YR12, YR15, YR20, YR21, YG91, YG95, R21, R22, and W01.

Thanks for looking.  I appreciate all comments.  Have a great day!

  1. Maggie, this is so pretty... so airy looking... like a breath of fresh air... thanks for sharing...I have an idea of something I want to make, I hope to get that done and I will share it on my blog ...

  2. Very nice! Cards like this are inspiring me to get practicing with my brand new copics :)

  3. I think you've incorporated both challenges beautifully, Maggie. I like Jennipher's challenge for you to work with the background more. I might have to try that.

Yep, I love fall. It's my favorite time of year. Thanks for sharing your memories with us.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your comments. I very much appreciate your time to do so. Have a fabulous day! Hugs!
