Teapot Tuesday - Queen of Hearts

Hello again and Happy Tuesday!  It's time for another Teapot Tuesday card.  This one is very simple because the lady it is going to actually makes and sends cards out to tons of people all the time, and I wanted her to be able to regift this card to someone without having to use extra postage.  Her name is Rita and she's a fellow SCS'r.  Click HERE to read her story.  She's an amazing woman.  Here is the card that I made.

Since Rita is into playing Bridge (a card game I could never figure out) I went with the Queen of Hearts theme.  I was lucky to find this cute vintage playing card over at http://www.senecapondcrafts.com/store/  I got a whole sheet of pretty images that I'm going to save for next Valentine's Day, but this one with all the playing cards was just perfect for this card.  As you can see, I left the sentiment space blank so Rita can add in anything she wants to use it for someone else.  The inside will remain blank also.

Materials:
Cardstock - SU Very Vanilla and Basic Black
Pattern Paper - Echo Park - Times and Seasons collection
Sizzix Embossing Folder on the card base.

That's it!  Pretty simple.  I also used the MFTWSC59 Sketch for this card.

Hello Spring

I was at home all day today.  I had planned the time off and had repair men coming to repair sheet rock in my house after I had it re-piped last year.  At the same time though, I'm suffering from an allergy attack and most of the day my nose was running like a faucet - still is.  Ugh!  I hate feeling like this.  Oh well, it'll be over in a few days.

Since I was home I decided to do some paper crafting.  Here's the card I created.

The image is from Digi Doodle - Field of Flowers.  I just love this image.  The sentiment is from The Cat's Pajamas - an Easter set, but I couldn't find the name of it.  Stamped with SU Groovy Guava on GP White.

Materials used:
Stampin Up Bashful Blue and Groovy Guava.
Paper is from Imaginesce - For Peep's Sake collection and the papers are Spring Fling and Tipotoe Through Tulips.
Ribbon is from my stash
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts - Peach carnation and mini roses.


I used a Nestabilities round die and the round scalloped die.
The Copics I used were B32, B41; E50, E51, E53; R01, R02, R12, R30; Y11, Y13, Y15; BG0000, 0 and SU Certainly Celery and Garden Green markers.

Abundance

Happy Thursday everyone.  Just one more work day and the weekend is here and I've got a long one planned.  Yep 3 days of vacation next week.  Can't wait.  Not going anywhere, but have lots to do around the house.  I'm finally getting some sheet rock repair done and am planning to spend some time getting my stamp room in order.  At least that's the plan. 

For now, I have a new card to showcase.  This beautiful image is one drawn by Anne Fenton over at The Outlawz.  She and Sandi come up with the lovliest images and then give them to us for FREE every other Sunday.  All we have to do is create a card with an image and post it on their website.

I wanted this to have really rich, dark looking roses so I started out with a darker red Copic marker.  But first, I printed the image on Papertrey White cardstock and cut it out with Nestabilities Labels 18, the largest size.  I didn't have a larger one to mat it with, so I outlined it on the Stampin Up Creamy Caramel c/s and then cut it out by hand.  I also used SU Creamy Caramel as my base for the card and adhered a layer of SU Cherry Cobbler.  The DP is from Basic Gray's Kissing Booth collection.  Love it!  Then I put a large doily over that which I distressed with the SU Cherry Cobbler ink and layered another strip from the Kissing Booth collection and then put my main image layer over that.

I love this sentiment stamp set from My Favorite Things and this one just seemed to be the right one to use.  It just seemed to be an abundance of joy and happiness.  I just got these new paper flowers from 7kidscollegefund.  I think they are so beautiful and, of course, I had to get them in a variety of colors.  The leaf spray is from my Nestabilities Foliage die.

Hi all!  It's Wednesday again and you know what that means - Time for another Perfect Sentiments Challenge!  Have you finally gotten over all the Christmas Holiday Hooplah?   Things have calmed down, it's almost Spring!  Well, we're here to let you know that Christmas is just a hop, skip, and a jump away.  It'll be here before you know it.  Our theme this week is Christmas Trimmings.  The challenge is to make a Christmas card with the sentiment of Christmas (please put it on the front of the card).  The twist is to use ribbon, twine, lace, seam binding, etc. on your card.  Here's mine.

Time for Yourself

Good morning.  It's Tuesday and time for another Teapot Tuesday card.   Here is the story -

This week our destination is Austin, Texas. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending them to the mother of fellow teapotter/SCSer, Lydia (Understandblue). I am sure you all know who Lydia is, she is the one that is running around the world of SCS day in and day out, all day long, answering this and answering that, welcoming here and welcoming there, fixing this and fixing that! She's the Website Manager, a big job!

Lydia's mother, Virginia, recently broke her femur just underneath the hip joint, thank goodness it was not her hip! She had pretty debilitating arthritis prior to that and hadn't really been mobile prior to the injury, so recovery has been brutal. They are trying to get her to stand/walk etc. and she just wasn't even doing that before the injury! So, she has a very long road ahead. She's got a rod down inside the femur and a bunch of screws and plates! So much for getting through security checks at the airport!

 The Challenge:

We gotta bring Lizzy back to reality, royal reality! I'm thinking sophisticated, educated, cultivated, worldly, cosmopolitan, well mannered, sheer elegance! A young sophisticated socialite in the form of a cat! Bring cats that are all that! None with a tat! Bring crowns, bring jewels, don't bring fools! Bring cats with looks, bring books, books, books! Fine dine and wine, Elizabeth must shine! Cats purring on a lap, not purring some rap! Bring Lady Di hats, no chasing of rats! It's important, a must! The Catsle or bust! We need a good rating, Camille, the next Lady in Waiting!


I didn't have any bling, but I did have lots of books and a little kitty.

Images:  Stampin Bella - Bookwormabella and Kittycatablla.  I just inked up the kitty on the stamp and then cut it out and mounted it by the stack of books.  These were inked using Tuxedo Black on Copic Blending Paper.
Designer Paper - Basic Gray - Oxford
Sentiment (Stampin Bella) is inked using Tuxedo Black on GP White and then layered on SU Marina Mist and then trimmed.
Ribbon - American Crafts.
Dew Drops - Water

Sentimental Sunday - Words of Encouragement

Wonderful Things

I just joined a new blogging group on SCS called Stamp Addicts.  They really seem to be a fun group and very active and busy not only with crafting, but in their IRL lives.  One of the challenges for the month is to CASE a card from one of the other Addicts.  This time is was Shelly and this is the card of hers that I chose.  I love the vibrant colors.  I actually chose this one because of the layout.  I had this huge sparkly flower that I've been dying to use on something and it was perfect for this.

Materials used:
Base - Gina K Designs 120# with a layer of Stampin Up Silver Metallic. 
Ribbon - Stampin Up Basic Gray Taffeta; bow - Martha Stewart Glitter bow.
Image - Chrysanthemum from Jolee By You.
Sentiment - have to check this.  I thought I knew where I got this, but I was wrong.  I stamped it with Versamark and then used SU Sterling Silver EP and used my heat gun to emboss it.  Then punched it out with a 1 1/2" punch and distressed the edges with a Metallic Silver ink pad.
Finished it off with a silver stick pin that I got at Mark's Finest Papers.

No Copics were used in the creation of this card.  ;)

Fairy Wish

This is a card I made using a digi image from The Outlawz.  It's so much fun to get new free images from them every 2 weeks.  Always have something to play with. 

Image - The Outlawz colored with Copic markers
Sentiment - Stampin Up - Think Big stamped with SU Lavendar Lace
Cardstock - Stampin Up Bashful Blue and Darling Daffodil.  White - Copic Blending Paper
Designer Paper - Basic Gray - Lilykate Rain adn Pansy.  I love this paper.
Ribbon - from my stash
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts and Modern Romance.

I used stickles on her wings using a small paint brush and putting small amounts on the brush and then brushing it onto the image.
