Goodbye Summer; Hello School - PSC89

Hello friends and Happy Wednesday.  Things are looking much better here at the Cat House.  Hehehe!  I think all the kitties are back to being well, although Corey has a visit scheduled on Thursday to get 2 booster shots.  Let's hope that getting him in the crate will go better than it did on Saturday - cause it didn't!  These little guys are just too smart to bamboozle them.  ;)  At least he's speaking to me again.

Time to show you what I've been up to for Perfect Sentiment Challenge this week.  Labor Day is just around the corner and for many that means the end of Summer and back to school.  This week we want you to create a card with either a Summer theme or a Back to School theme.  Don't forget to include your sentiment on the front.

I sure hope all the kids are ready to learn and have a fabulous school year.

For this card, the materials I used were:
  • Image - Paper Shelter - Learning is Fun
  • Sentiment - Computer Generated
  • Cardstock - Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up Groovy Guava
  • Designer Paper - Basic Gray - Hopscotch
  • Accessories - Ribbon from my stash; Stampin Up Oval and Scallop Oval punches; I can't remember who the manufacturer is of the corner die.  I'll have to look that up.
  • Copic Markers - B91, B93, B95; E31, E33, E35, E37; E40, E50, E51, E53; Y21, Y17, YG01, YG21; YR00, YR02, YR12, YR15, YR24, YR82; Spica Gel Pen Gold.
Our fabulous sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter.

Her images are so adorable, so make sure to check out the store and see what she has.  The Paper Shelter will be awarding a $20 gift certificate to one lucky random winner!

Now, it's time for you to get inky, so hop on over to the Perfect Sentiment Challenge blog for some inspiration and see what the rest of the Design Team has been up too.  Then get your stamps, ink, and papers out and see what you can come up with.  You could be one of the Perfect 3 this week.  Good luck!

Christmas Wishes - PSC 88

Hello friends. Thanks for stopping by.  We've had some sickies in the Cat House the last couple of weeks, but hopefully everything is under control now.  Casper got some meds on Monday and I was actually able to give it to him in a syringe without much of a struggle last night. I watched what the vet assistant did to give him the meds and did the same thing and it worked great!  Corey gets to go to the vet next Saturday for a couple booster shots for him and then I hope it's just normal life with no visits to the vet even though they are very nice and caring.

Getting on to the business at hand.  It's Wednesday and time for another Perfect Sentiment challenge.  This week we've made it pretty easy for you.  The theme this week is to make a Christmas card, but don't use any red or green.  Easy right!  I was so glad to do this card because I'm so far behind in getting my Christmas cards done.  It was a little hard in picking the colors to use for it, but I think it turned out pretty well.
Materials Used:
  • Image - Tracey Malnofski's - Happy Happy Snowman
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - Joyous Celebration
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Bashful Blue; Xpress It Blending Card; Shimmer c/s - don't remember where I got it.
  • Designer Paper - Stamping Up Frostwood Lodge - Background and Diagonal Strip - my stash
  • Accessories - Lace from Wild Orchid Crafts; Bling from my stash; Cricut Frosty Lace cartridge for the snowflakes; Stamping Up small oval and large oval punches; Nestabilities Large Oval Die and Big Scallop Oval Die; Blue stickles; Spica Gel Pen - Silver
  • Copic markers - B0000; B000, B01, B12; E11, E13, E18, E21, E50, E51, E53; Y11, Y13, Y18, YR01, YR02, W0, E3, W6, W7

This week our sponsor is none other than The Perfect Sentiment Challenge!

One lucky winner will be awarded 3 free Christmas digital images from the PSC website.  Great for you to get started on making your own Christmas cards.

Don't forget to stop by the PSC blog and check out what the rest of the Design Team has in store for your inspiration.  Then get inky yourself and create something for the challenge.  You could be that lucky random winner or be chosen as one of the Perfect 3!  Good luck!

Roxie - Simply Betty Stamps FB Fan Page Challenge

Hello my friends and Happy Friday Night!  So glad to have a weekend here and with not much going on so I'm hoping I'll have lots of time to play.

Before I go get lost in my stamp room, I want to show you my card I did for this month's Simply Betty Facebook Fan Page Challenge.  The deal as always is that we get a free digi from the amazing Betty but we have to use the image to enter the Fan Page Challenge that month.  If you don't, then you have to sit out the next month.  The good thing is that if you can't do the challenge, you can always purchase the image.  Check out her store at Simply Betty Stamps and see all the amazing digis and rubber stamps she has for you.

So, here's my card.
The sentiment words are from Betty, but I generated them on my computer so they would fit on the tag. Cardstock base is Stampin Up Pale Plum and the image is printed on Xpress It Blending Card.  I dug into my stash of designer paper and found these from Imaginisce - A Shore Thing, and Getting Hotter - needs water.  I used bling and Stickles for the bubbles and stickles also on the fins.  The image was colored with Copic markers - B0000, B000, B01, B02; BG0000; E01, E02; V0000, V000, V01; YG0000, YG00, YG03, YG06, YG21.

Here's a close up of the image --

My layout is from My Favorite Things.
That's it for today.  Just a reminder that Perfect Sentiment Challenge will be back on Wednesday, August 7.  I hope you'll come join in and play with us again.

I am submitting this card for the following challenges:

Santa's Helper

Happy Sunday my friends.  I hope you've had an enjoyable weekend.  I always do when it includes play time in my stamp room.

I did take some time out yesterday to go to the theater with my daughter and her family to see Wicked!  I know, I know, everyone else has seen it already.  I think I must be the last person in the US that has gotten to see it.  We all thoroughly enjoyed it.  I was trying sometimes to figure out which was the Good witch and which one was Wicked.  ;)  After the show we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner and that was soooooo yummy!  I had their grilled salmon and it was very tasty.  Filled me up so there was no room for dessert.  Boo hoo!

Well, enough about that, time to get to my card.  This is another Christmas card.  I do have a lot of these to make, so there will be more of them in the weeks and months to come.  I used a My Favorite Things sketch for my layout even though it is an old one. I'm trying to catch up for this year with all the Wednesday Sketch challenges.
Since it's a Christmas card, this time I did use the traditional colors for my card.
Recipe:
  • Image - Sassy Studio Designes - Santa's Helper
  • Sentiment - Computer generated printed in gold
  • Cardstock - Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up Real Red and Old Olive; Shimmery cardstock, but I can't recall where I bought it from and the package is not marked
  • Designer Paper - Stampin Up Candlelight Christmas

Piece of Cake

Happy Tuesday!

I played in two challenges this week:  Sketch from My Favorite Things (MFT)

and Photo Inspiration from Mark's Finest Papers.

It was fun, but I really had a hard time with the sketch.  I knew what I wanted to do, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to.  I really, really need more time to devote to stamping, looking at layouts, figuring out new designs.  Unfortunately, working 8 hours a day, doesn't leave a lot of time for it and so I make do.  Oh well, I still have fun with what I do, and I hope you enjoy it too.
Materials Used:

  • Image and Sentiment - See D's - Piece of Cake.  I'm not sure if they are still in business.  This is a pretty old stamp set, but I really like it.
  • Word  Background - Whipper Snapper Designs - Party Words Background - another old stamp
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Pixie Pink; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Blush
  • Ink - Tuxedo Memento Black
  • Accessories - Marvy Large Oval Punch and Marvy Large Scallop Oval Punch
  • Copic Markers - R81, R83, R85, RV00, RV02, RV04, RV13, W0, W2, and W4
I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Mark's Finest Papers - Inspiration Challenge - Photo
My Favorite Things - Wednesday Stamp Club - Sketch
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
