Happy Birthday Butterfly - IAS #28

Hi friends and happy Sunday! I hope you had a good week.  Busy here.

I love nature - flowers, trees, birds, butterflies - all the beautiful creatures. The other day I heard on the news that there was a yellow cardinal feeding in the backyard of a home in Atlanta, Georgia. Wow! Then today on Facebook, someone actually posted a video of the bird eating from a bird feeder. It is BEAUTIFUL! I can't imagine seeing it in real life. I have a pair of red cardinals that come and feed at my bird feeder and they are gorgeous, but a yellow one - awesome1

My card today is simple. I was a little pressed for time this week, but wanted to get a card done for the challenge since I missed the last one. I knew what I wanted to do from the start and so happy that it turned out pretty much the way I envisioned it. Our theme for this fortnight is to use embossing (wet or dry) and to use a die cut.

Materials Used:
  • Die-Namites - Butterfly die
  • Practical Publishing Int's - Floral Friends Embossing Folder
  • Hero Arts - Ribbon Messages, Stamp & Cut
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Crisp Cantalope and Daffodil Delight, white scrap
  • Accessories - bling from my stash
All done!

I hope you'll come and join in the fun this week at International Art & Soul. I'd love to see what kind of dies you have and embossing you like to do.  You could be the winner or picked as one of the Top 3!

  1. Maggie, the butterfly is very pretty on this lovely card!

  2. Your call just beautiful my friend !

I live in Maryland and the state bird is the Baltimore Orioles I have only seen one in my backyard one time . That was years ago . Right now at my birdfeeder I have Cardinals and red wing black birds. The robins will be here soon , I'll buy worms and put them in the ground feeder for the first few days they are here when the ground is still frozen .

    Your design team sister ,

  3. I am using voice recognition software to comment it thought I said call when I said card ! Sorry!

  4. Wow, love the colors on this and the banner and butterfly -- all of it! I hadn't heard about the yellow cardinal, but I Googled it just now. Amazing and beautiful! We don't get any cardinals here at all. The most colorful birds at our feeders are the Stellar's Jays, Varied Thrush and Townsend's Warbler. There are lots of goldfinches around here, but no matter what I do to try to attract them, they don't come to my yard. I just love watching the birds!

  5. I love this, Margaret! so bright and cheerful during dark winter days.

  6. I had never hear of a yellow cardinal! I will have to ask DD if she has seen one as she and family live in the Atlanta area and have bird feeders. They get lots of humming birds; not unusual to have up to 10 at same time! Lovely card, Maggie, love the butterfly!

  7. love the yellow against that coral. Very springy.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your comments. I very much appreciate your time to do so. Have a fabulous day! Hugs!
