Spring Tulips

Hello friends and Happy Spring!  So sorry if Spring hasn't caught up to you yet. I know some are still digging out from snow storms. Been there; done that. Don't want to do it anymore. I'm so glad that our cold, rainy season seems to be over for the time being and we're enjoying some pleasant weather with a bit of sunshine.

I love flowers and tulips are one of my most favorite. That is one thing I miss about being up North is having the beautiful bulbs poke out of the ground every Spring. The image for our card this month was just what I needed. This card is for our Creative Card Chicks on Splitcoaststampers. Each month our hostess sends out a kit containing images, paper, embellishments, and whatever she wants and then we all will make a card or two or three and post it on our thread. This month our hostess was Paola. Sad to say she'll be leaving the group after this round for personal reasons. We all wish her the best.
Here is what she has to say about her kit. "The image is from a stamp set from Sparkle and Sprinkle which is kind of local to Florida. The paper is from Michael's (The zigzag is more blue than the green that it looks like.) The butterflies are die cuts.

I used Stampin Up Baja Breeze for my card base and some Stampin Up ribbon for the bow.  I used my Copic markers to color in the image - B0000, R81, R83, R85; YG03, YG06, YG63, and YGY67.

That's it for today. See you soon.

Ugly Sweater - IAS #29

Hello my friends and Happy Sunday! It's a little gray and gloomy here today, but hopefully the sun will come out soon and warm things up. Yesterday was a beautiful day and I was able to do just a little bit of work out there before I had to come inside and rest. That really irks me because I used to love to work out in my gardens and would spend hours out pulling weeds and digging in the dirt. That is one thing that age has placed limits on. 😧

So, what makes me happy now is time spent in my craft room. I did have a little bit of time during the last couple weeks to spend some time doing some creating. This card was made for the latest challenge for International Art & Soul. Our DT Team Member Jeanette picked the theme for our challenge which is to "Add Humor."

Materials Used:
Image and Sentiment- Art Impressions

Happy Birthday Butterfly - IAS #28

Hi friends and happy Sunday! I hope you had a good week.  Busy here.

I love nature - flowers, trees, birds, butterflies - all the beautiful creatures. The other day I heard on the news that there was a yellow cardinal feeding in the backyard of a home in Atlanta, Georgia. Wow! Then today on Facebook, someone actually posted a video of the bird eating from a bird feeder. It is BEAUTIFUL! I can't imagine seeing it in real life. I have a pair of red cardinals that come and feed at my bird feeder and they are gorgeous, but a yellow one - awesome1

My card today is simple. I was a little pressed for time this week, but wanted to get a card done for the challenge since I missed the last one. I knew what I wanted to do from the start and so happy that it turned out pretty much the way I envisioned it. Our theme for this fortnight is to use embossing (wet or dry) and to use a die cut.

Materials Used:
  • Die-Namites - Butterfly die
  • Practical Publishing Int's - Floral Friends Embossing Folder
  • Hero Arts - Ribbon Messages, Stamp & Cut
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Crisp Cantalope and Daffodil Delight, white scrap
  • Accessories - bling from my stash
All done!

I hope you'll come and join in the fun this week at International Art & Soul. I'd love to see what kind of dies you have and embossing you like to do.  You could be the winner or picked as one of the Top 3!
