Creatalicious #108 - Hearts It Is

Hi friends.  Here I am back again already. I have been keeping pretty busy in my craft room coloring up a bunch of images and making cards. I did have a pleasant weekend with friends over for dinner, then the movies to see La-La-Land!  How many of you have seen it and if so what did you think?  Sunday dinner at my daughter's house and a game of Sorry.  I wasn't sorry, I won!  LOL!

In the meantime, I made this card for the latest Creatalicious challenge.  The theme, of course, is Anything Goes. The twist is to add some hearts!  How can you make a Valentine card without using any hearts?

Starry Night

Hi my friends.  I hope all are doing well this weekend with weather conditions. We've been going through our 2nd cold snap of the Winter, but it's gradually going to start warming up again into the mid 70's this week. It's been a crazy Winter.  We get 3 day cold spells in between our Spring weather.

I thought that I would get a jump start on my Christmas cards for 2017 so that I don't get down to November and have a crunch time like I did last year trying to get them all done. The card I'm showcasing today I made for a group I"m in on SCS called Challenge Your Stash. There is a challenge posted every month and we are to make our card using our own supplies from our stash and NOT go out and buy anything for it. This month of January it was a color challenge from Barb to only use White, Black, and Silver. At first all I could think of was wedding cards but then I remembered this SU stamp set and I knew it was what I wanted to use.

The picture doesn't really do it justice with the silver embossing. Looks so much better IRL.

Materials Used all from my stash:
  • Image - Stampin Up - The Newborn King stamp set
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - The Newborn King stamp set
  • Cardstock - SU Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver Metallic
  • Accessories - Versamark stamp pad; SU Silver embossing powder; silver metallic ribbon; Spellbinders Nestabilities scallop dies
Pretty simple today and no copic markers were used in this project. :)

I am submitting this card for the following challenges:

Hiding in my Craft Room - Any Holiday

Starbucks Kelly

Good morning my friends.  I hope you are having a great weekend. It's a beautiful day here in H Town so welcome after all the rain we have had this past week. Blah!  Not much going on. Petunia is still being a sassy girl and it looks like she may be a permanent fixture in our home. I'm thinking of calling her Zelda! She's such a fierce warrior when we're playing with her bird on a string toy. She doesn't particularly like to be picked up, but neither do my boys, but I think there's hope for her to become a sweet girl.

Well, on to my blogpost. I belong to a group on Splitcoast Stampers called the Creative Card Chicks. We have a monthly challenge where each hostess sends a card kit to the rest of the group.  The kit must include images, dp, and any embellishments you want to add. We can add anything we like from our own stash. This month our hostess was Jeanette (Forest Ranger). I loved her kit and knew what I wanted to do from the start. I think this is the first time EVER that I had my card done way before time to post it. One of our group LOVES Starbucks. She has to have her fix every day in order to keep up with her active brood. So, I called this Starbucks Kelly!
