Farm Boy

Hi friends! Another card to share with you today. I'm getting this one done under the wire. It's for The Outlawz Progressive Freebie challenge. If you haven't signed up yet and joined The Outlawz, you should. They have a different challenge every day. Always something going on for everyone. For this challenge, they will give you the image for free. All you have to do is use it to make your project for that month and post it on The Outlawz website. You could also win prizes! For this month, I wanted to really show off the image, so I sized him up a bit to fit on a long card. I just love making long cards. I also paired him with my new Dog Treats stamp by Julie Nutting from Prima.  Every boy has to have a dog, right!

I didn't do too much with it. Just used the designer paper mostly (October Afternoon's Farm Girl collection). I did get out one of my dies to kind of fill in that space on the right and added a bit of twine. I used Copic markers for the coloring. I really like the way his hair turned out.

Looking forward to Friday and the weekend. It's been a rough one here. I've been transferring frozen food each night from the old freezer to the new one to get it evened out. I can't do too much at once because it's so hot in the garage that if I keep the door open too long, the temp inside the freezer goes up quickly.

I am submitting this card for the following challenges:

Ruff Day Doghouse

Good morning.  I'm way late in posting this card. I was recently invited to join the Mystery Swap group on SCS which was originally started by Jeanette (Forest Ranger). This month the hostess was Kelly (Miamikel) and she sent us all this adorable dog image. I really had to dig deep into my creativity to come up with a design that I liked. I came up with this little scene.

Daddy's Girl - OSAAT #242

Hello friends and Happy Sunday!  The weather is staying pretty hot here in H Town. I've had to water a few times and I'm sure my water bill is going to be right up there! I went shopping for a new upright freezer yesterday and managed to get a good deal on one. It's supposed to be delivered on Tuesday which means 1/2 day off of work and then I can rearrange all the food that is in the other freezer and may be able to figure out what's in there! So much for that!

Today I've got another card for One Stitch at a Time with an image from Coosty Creations. Turns out that this image is of real people. I see so many images from different sponsors and mostly they are "make believe," so it's really cool when the image I use is of an actual person.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Coosty Creations - Daddy's Girl
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - A Round Array
  • Cardstock - Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up Basic Black
  • Designer Paper - Digital Design from Coosty Creations
  •  Ink - Tuxedo - Memento Black
  • Accessories - Twine from my stash; Clef Die; Stampin Up scallop punch
  • Copic Markers - B0000; B21, B34; E21, E23; E31, E33, E35, E37; E50, E51, E53; W3; YG11, YG03, YG61
As is our usual practice, Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet is our sponsor for this challenge. Our theme is Anything Goes With Children. I hope you'll come join us.  You could be the winner of the July Prize Pack or picked as one of the Top 3! Good luck!

Megan and A Fond Farewell to CK

Hi friends!  Happy Thursday. It has been really HOT down here in H Town these last few weeks ever since the rains have stopped. Everyone asked us to send them some and we did and now we don't have any left over for us. LOL!

Well, it is a day to say goodbye too. This is my last post as part of the Creative Knockouts Design Team. It's been a fun time working with all the ladies on the Teams and especially our leader Kelly. I learned a lot - especially to get out of my comfort zone and try different things. I hope I can continue to do that.

Our theme for this challenge is Paper Piecing, and I was so happy to get to do this one before I left. I recently bought some Julie Nutting Paper Doll stamps and couldn't wait to use one of them for my card. I chose to use Megan. Some people don't like them because they are big! But they are just right to use on a long card that will fit into a #10 business size envelope.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Julie Nutting - Megan
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up -
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Whisper White, Ultrasmooth Vanilla, and Really Rust
  • Designer Paper - Stampin Up - Fall Flowers
  • Ink - Really Rust; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Accessories - Ribbon from my stash; String Bow Die; Small Lace Doily Die; Stampin Up Scallop Round punch;
  • Copic Markers - E31, E51, E53; E15, E17, E18; E37; Y15, Y23
I have to tell you that I stamped Megan with Memento Ink onto a piece of Stampin up Ultrasmooth Vanilla and then used Copic Markers on her skin, hair and boots and had no problems at all with using the Stampin Up cardstock with my Copic Markers. The USV was great to work with and gave her a good base of color for her skin

The Sponsor for this challenge is Craft Classes Online and the winner of the prize will get a seat in one of their online classes worth up to $25!  Fabulous!  I hope you'll all come and join me this one last time as I say goodbye to Creative Knockouts and please hop on over to the challenge blog and see what they have prepared for you!

I am submitting this card for the following challenges:

Chillaxin' Corey - OSAAT #241

Hi and Happy Sunday! This week the weather has been hot, humid, and dry! You could cut the air with a knife. At least the monsoon season seems to be over for the time being, but of course, not it's back to watering the flower beds to keep them alive.

My allergy testing went well on Friday. On a scale from 3 - 6, all my reactions were a 3, so not a really big deal. Have not discussed anything with my doctor yet, but I don't see allergy shots in my future any time soon. I do have a long list of things that I reacted too including CAT HAIR and Dog Hair!  Well, you can be sure that I'm not getting rid of any of my fur babies either!

This week we're doing some Chillaxin' at One Stitch at a Time!  Here's my card -

Materials Used:
  • Image - Beary Dust - Corey
  • I left off the sentiment until I decide what I'm going to do with this card.
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Soft Sky; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - Prima - Doodle Deux
  • Accessories - Bling from my stash; Flowers - Recollections & Petaloo; corner rounder punch; ticket punch
  • Copic Markers - B0000; BG02, BG10, BG11; E00, E11, E41; Y06, Y15, Y23; R83; YR00, YR16
Our sponsor of course is our own Stitchy Bear and one lucky winner will win the July Prize pack. You could also be picked as one of the Top 3. It is so fun seeing everyone's cards.

I hope you'll come on and join in the fun this week. Stop on over at the challenge blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has creaated for you.

Andrea's Picnic - CK #97

Hi my friends.  I hope you're having a great week!  The weather is finally turning Summer - warm and sunny. Sure hope the monsoon season is over for this year. Of course that means I'll have to start watering the flower beds, but I can handle that. tI have been able to start walking again. I don't walk outside - too hot. I work across the street from The Galleria Mall so I just walk across the street and then walk the Mall for 30 minutes. Feels good getting back into it.  Friday I have allergy testing scheduled first thing in the morning. Hope that they can figure out what I'm allergic to so the doctor can figure out what to do for it.

So with the talk of Summer, that leads me into our Creative Knockouts challenge for this week. The theme is Summer Fun.
