Deck the Halls

It's finally happened!!!!!!!  I made a Christmas card!  Wow!  For the last couple of years, I've been taking part in the Splitcoast Stampers Christmas Card Challenge and I'd make about 5 or 6 cards a month and then have them all ready to go in November.  This year I started out okay and made about 4 or 5 in January and then nothing - nada - not any!  The other day I was chatting with a friend and she said this same thing!  I couldn't believe she hasn't been making Christmas cards either.  So we decided to encourage each other to get ours done.  I guess I'm going to need lots more encouragement to get more than one card done!  Anyway, it's a start and now I have all my Christmas stuff out - papers, embellishments, ribbons, flowers - ready to go.
Actually, I'm not real happy with it.  Not sure I like the die cut on top of that particular pattern paper, but it is what it is and will do for now.  I must also confess, that I did not use one Copic marker in the making of this card.  The image is from Lili of the Valley and they have pre-printed images you can buy (inexpensive) and they are colored perfectly!  The sentiment tags are also from LOTV.  I used Stampin Up Night of Navy card stock for the base and mat and also the ink for the sentiments.

The designer paper is from Echo Park - Times & Seasons.  The accessories are all from my stash and the die cut is from Cricut cartridge Winter Lace.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.

  4. So pretty! I never heard of pre-colored images, very clever idea, and it looks amazing. I love the idea of starting holiday cards early in the year, but for some weird reason, I never get to it.

  5. I don't know why you are not happy with it. It is so cute, and I like all the detail. I had also made a goal of so many cards per month for Christmas; I did good thru May, I think. Now I am behind. :)

  6. It's wonderful, Maggie! I rather like the background dp. Very festive. :-D I love LOTV pre-printed images for quick cards and often use them for Christmas cards because I have so many to do every year.

  11. Wooo hooo!! One card down...how many to go??? You've nudged me to get busy on my end as well.

This is a great start! LOTV has beautiful images and you've really done it justice. Very pretty layout and (even though you're not satisfied with it) the die cut is a nice accent!

  15. This is a darling image and it would be so fun to color, but it would take me quite a while to get it done. It's a very pretty card! I keep making that one Christmas card a month, but I wait till the last minute and then I'm not crazy about the card. I need to color up some cute stuff but it's hard to get in the mood in the middle of summer.

  16. Great card and good on ya for getting a head start on those holiday cards. I do like that little gold die up in the corner and the more I see of these precoloured images, the more I think I should get some!
