Gentle Thoughts - SC337

Well, I had a fright tonight!  I clicked on the link to my blog so I could post this card tonight, and I got a notice that my blog had been removed!!!!!!!  Yikes!   Luckily, I was able to find the right place to go and do the right things to get it back.  I think that someone tried to spam me the other day, but Google caught it before it actually made it to my blog.  The message I got tonight was that they detected some unusual activity on my blog, so I'm thinking that maybe that was the reason.

Anyway, I'm just glad I'm back in business.  Don't know what I would do if I lost everything I've already posted here over the last year.

This card that I'm sharing with you tonight is another card from my SCS Monthly Challenge Club.  This kit was sent to me by Suzy back in May!  Yep, finally getting around to making something with it.  Mostly, I usually really like the cards that I make.  Once in awhile there is one that I'm not so crazy about for one reason or another, but I must say that when I got finished with this card, I really liked it!  I like all the ingredients that Suzy sent us and when I finally picked a layout for it, the card just all came together so easily.  That was one of the requirements.  We were supposed to pick a sketch from the SCS Sketch Challenges.

This is the card that I came up with.
All the supplies were in the kit except for the SU Going Gray c/s and the Recollections pearls.   The image and sentiment are from a retired SU stamp set - Garden Collage.  When I saw this paper, I just knew I wanted to use them both together and I thought the ribbon would bring it all together.

I used my Copic markers to color the image:  G21, G24, Y11, Y13, Y19, Y38, and YR24.  I also used C0 to light go over the background.

I'm submitting this card for the following challenges:

The House That Stamps Built - Flowers
Scrapalicious - Anything Goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Sympathy
Everybody-Art- Challenge - Anything Goes
LEJ Designs Challenge - Anything Goes
Paper and Such - Wings and Things
Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

Thanks again for stopping by my blog and leaving your comment.  Hopefully this weekend I'll have some time to visit blogs of those who come by and leave comments here.  Working full time sure does interfere with my personal life.  I'd much rather be home stamping!

No Chocolate - PSC47

I'm about to reveal to you my followers a deep, DARK, secret in my life.  I'm a CHOCOLAOLIC!  I'm so in love with chocolate, but especially the Dark kind.  Yum Me!   So, now that you know my secret, you can understand why I made this card.

First of all, our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps.  The winner this week will get SEVEN digi images from the Bugaboo Store!  Lucky you!

So here's my card.
I had this design in my head from the time that I picked this digi stamp to use for my card.  When I started working on it though, it turned out to be tougher than I thought.  I tried a couple different techniques to get the sky and ground, but finally decided on using sponges.  Believe me, this image is me!  LOL!

Materials Used:
  • Image and Sentiment - Bugaboo Stamps
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Xpress It Blending Card
  • Ink - Stampin Up, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Pointe, Old Olive, Always Artichoke
  • Accessories:  Circle punches, twine, eyelets, pearl dewdrops, stickles, sponges.
  • Copic Markers:  E50, E51, E53; E27, E29; R24, R27; Y11, Y13, Y15
Pretty simple this week.  It was a fun card to make once I figured out the background.

Time to hop on over to the Perfect Sentiment Challenge and check out what the rest of the Design Team has been up to.  I hope you'll take the challenge and get creating.  Then link up your card and you might be the winner this week of the free digis from Bugaboo or you could be one of the Perfect 3!  You can't win if you don't enter.

I'm submitting my card for the following challenges:
Anything Goes Challenge - Make Your Own Background
Barely Mine - Anything that Glitters
Crafty Sentiments - Let's Sparkle
Everybody-Art-Challenge - Anything Goes
LEJ Designs - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

Thanks again for stopping by and leaving your comment.  I so appreciate each one.

Times Are Tough

Hello friends.  I sure hope that you had a wonderful weekend.  After the housecleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and cooking, I had a great time with my daughter and family over for dinner on Sunday.  The last couple weeks have been busy with meetings and appointments, so I was happy to finally have time to sit down and do some crafting last night.

I belong to a group on Splitcoaststampers that take part in a Monthly Challenge Swap.  Each month one of the members creates a kit with paper and embellishments and sometimes some images and sends them out to the other members and then we all create one or more cards made with the items sent.  We're always free to add to what is sent if we like.  I'm really behind on getting my cards done, but I was able to work on one last night that came from Beachbound a/k/a Dody.  The twist on this one was that we were supposed to pick out a sketch from SCS Sketches and use it to make our card.  I chose SCS 242 for my card.
So, here is the card that I put together.
Materials Used:
  • Image - Clear Impressions
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - So Sorry
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Whisper White
  • DSP - Not sure what collection it's from, but it is Stampin Up.  I really like it.
  • Punch - Martha Stewart Bird
  • Ribbon - Stampin Up
  • Copic Markers:  B0000; B32; Y21, Y32, Y35, Y38; YG03, YG05; W0, W2, W4; 0
The embossing was already on the cardstock so not sure which one it is.

That's it.  It was nice to get inky just for fun for a change.

I'm going to submit this card for the following challenges:
365 Cards - Stripes
Crafty Boots Challenge - Tweet, Tweet
Eureka Stamps - Anything Goes
Forever Friends - Anything Goes
House of Gilli - Favorite Color Combo
Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Lots of Layers
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Great Impressions - Anything with an Animal
The Oulawz - Sunday Challenge - CAS with an Animal
Sir StampaLot - Take Flight

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment.  I appreciate each one.  Wishing you all a good week.

Grandparents Day!

September 9 is right around the corner!  Why is that important?  Well, if you have grandchildren, then hopefully you will hear from them or be with them on that day because it's Grandparent's Day!  I am a grandparent of 4 fabulous kids - 3 girls and 1 boy.  The apple of my eye!  I have a magnet on my refrigerator that says, "Grandchildren are God's gift for NOT strangling your teenagers."  LOL!  If I knew how much fun grandchildren were, I would have had them first.

Anyway, I made this card as a member of the Design Team for Bowdabra.  I'm sad to say that this is my last official card that I've made for them as part of their DT.  I've enjoyed working with them.  They are really the best and so very professional and wonderful to work with.  I'm sure going to miss them, but life goes on.
Materials Used:
  • Image – My Heart Pieces – Rajrupta
  • Sentiment – Computer Generated
  • Cardstock – Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up Rose Romance and Blushing Bride
  • Pattern Paper – Prima – Sparkling Spring
  • Ink – Stampin Up Rose Romance
  • Martha Stewart Double Sided punch
  • Ribbon – 5/8″ Satin Ribbon & 1/8″ Satin Ribbon
  • Flowers – Wild Orchid Crafts and Petaloo
  • Copic markers:  Eyes, B14; Skin, E50, E51, E53, R01; Dress, R81, R83, R85; Hair, Y11, Y15, Y19; Flowers, R14, R24, G12, G14; Shoes, E31, E35, E37; Outline, C0, C00.
I'm going to be submitting this to the following challenges:

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.  Hope you are having a happy day.

MIssing You - PSC46

Happy Wednesday!  I hope it's been a good week for you so far.  I must say I'm still a little tired, but doing well. Today we have another Perfect Sentiment challenge for you.  Our theme this week is to create a card with the sentiment of Missing You and the twist is to use wings somewhere on your card.  It can be an embellishment, your image, designer paper, or whatever!

Our fabulous sponsor this week is Patti's Creations and she is donating 1 free digital image for the randomly drawn winner.
Now on to my card.
I've had this image for awhile and not really sure where I got it from.  It was printed out on Xpress It Blending Card.  The cardstock is from Stampin Up - Orchid Opulence for the mats and base.  The designer paper is Basic Gray's Kioshi.  I love this paper.  The Sentiment was computer generated.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. and leaves are made with Martha Stewart's Fir Branch punch.  I used Nestabilities classic oval and the lacy oval.  I had to add some Stickles to giver her some glittery wings.  I used Crystal and Lavender.

The image was colored using my Copic markers:  B0000; E50, E51, E53; G20, G21, G24; Y02, Y13, Y18, Y23, Y38; V0000, V00, V01, V04, V12.

Now head on over the Perfect Sentiment Challenge Blog and see what the rest of our awesome DT has for your inspiration.  Then get out your supplies and create your own fabulous card and link it up on the PSC Blog and you could be the winner of the prize or be picked as one of the Perfect 3.  Good luck!

Frieda On the Seashore

Hope you all have been having a good Monday.  I've got to say that I got worn out over the weekend with having my grands over to spend the night Friday and then out to the movies and lunch on Saturday. They are not little anymore, so I couldn't put them to bed at 7:30 p.m.  ;)  We were up quite late and then after meetings and such yesterday, I had another late night.  One of the things I was doing was working on this card.  It may become special one of these days; and if so, great, but if not, then I still like it and wanted to share it with you.

Once I got the blues worked out, it seemed to go together very well.

I used the current My Favorite Things Sketch for the layout:

Dotted Thank You - PSC45

Good morning friends.  So good to see you back here on a Wednesday for another Perfect Sentiment challenge!  This should be an easy one for you.  The challenge is to create a card with the sentiment of Thanks, and the twist is to use DOTS somewhere on your project.

Our sponsor this week is Crafty Sentiments Designs and one lucky winner will receive 3 free digital stamps from their store.
The ironic thing is that I submitted my last week's PSC card for their Clean and Simple challenge and I was the WINNER.  Just found out tonight, so I'm also going to be getting 3 free digis from their store!

Okay, coming down off of my winners high, here is my card for this week's PSC challenge.
For my card, I used one of Elisabeth Bell's stamps called Belinda With Teddy from Belles & Whistles.  Isn't she adorable.  She is stamped on Express It Blending Card and matted on Stampin Up Lavender Lace which is also used for the base of the card and for the sentiment mat.

My design is based on a sketch from Bev Rochester.  I love her blog All the Things I Love and follow her on a daily basis.

The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Fancy Flexible Phrases.  I love these little stamps and can usually find just the right sentiment for my cards.  It is stamped using SU Lavender Lace ink on SU Whisper White and then punched out using SU small oval.  The mat is punched with a Marvy small scallop oval punch.

The paper is from Stampin Up Woodland Walk.  I used a MS border punch for the mat under the dotted paper.  The ribbon is from my stash and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I used my Martha Stewart Leaf Branch punch for the leaves which are punched from Stampin Up Garden Green c/s.

If you need some more inspiration, you should pop on over to Perfect Sentiment Challenge blog and see what the rest of the Design Team is up to and then join in and link up your own creation for this week.  YOU could be the random lucky winner this week of those 3 digis from Crafty Sentiments or your card could be chosen as one of the Perfect 3.

I'm going to be submitting this card to the following challenges:
Can You Digi It - Purple Please
Cards and More - Anything Goes
Jackson Digital Expressions - Anything Goes
Stamp N Plus - Flowers
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Paper Pretties - Anything Goes
Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Add Some Flowers
Whoopsi Daisy - Anything Goes

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.  I so appreciate the time it takes for you to do that.

Country Girl

Hello again to all my friends.  Yep, I've got yet another card to share with you.  It went together pretty well after I got the image colored and I really like how she turned out.  I was going for a leather look to her jacket and boots.  Wanted her to be a real Country Girl.
The image I used is one from Anne Fenton over at The Outlawz.  It's been awhile since I've been able to play in the Sunday Creative Freebie Challenge so this is one of the older images that I've been hoarding.

Before I get into the rest of the card, I wanted to mention that the layout is from this week's sketch at My Favorite Things - Wednesday Stamp Clug No. 84.

The sentiment is from Stampin Up - A Little Birthday Cheer which I stamped with SU Buckaroo Blue on SU Whisper White and then nipped the ends to make the banner.  I used SU Buckaroo Blue for the card base and the image and sentiment mats.  The image is printed on Xpress It Blending Card.  I dug into my SU dsp and pulled out the Western Sky collection and used the paper from that for the background and the striped piece across the bottom.  The strip of ribbon I believe is also from SU (Retired).  The fabric brads are from my stash.  I colored the image with my Copic markers:  Skin: E50, E51, E53, R81; Hair: Y11, Y15, Y19; Jacket and Boots:  E93, E97, E99, Y17, Y38; Blouse: R17; Jeans: B91, B93, B95; Fence: E43, E44, E57; Grass: YG05, YG09; Outline: B0000.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Crafts and Me - Use a Digi
Digi Stamps 4 Joy - Portrait of a Woman
Divas By Design - For a Female

The Outlawz - Creative Freebie Challenge

Wishing You Comfort - PSC44

Welcome back to my blog and another Wednesday Perfect Sentiment Challenge.  I hope you all have been having a good week.  I'm still recovering from my Summer cold, but doing so much better, so much so that I've started working out again!  Feels so good to be moving this old body around.

Anyway, let's get to today's card.  Our challenge this week is to make a card with the Sentiment of Sympathy and the twist is to make it Clean and Simple - CAS!  I'm not so good at this.  I always think there is something missing when I get done and want to add more layers and more embellishments, but I stopped before it got out of hand.  Hehehe!
First I stamped my image which is "Wishing You" from Papertrey Ink.  The flower came in two pieces so I didn't have a problem stamping it in the two colors.  Although I didn't like it so much when I first stamped it, so I went over the images with my SU markers to give it more depth.  I used SU Orchid Opulence and Garden Green inks and markers.  I also wanted to add a little shading to it, so I broke out my Copics and used G17, YG09, and V04 also on the image.  Then I wanted to jazz it up a little bit so I used my SU Tulip Frame embossing folder to add the frame around the edge.  I had the ribbon in my stash and added that to my layer with just a knot.  Then adhered all of that to the SU Orchid Opulence card base.  I stamped the sentiment which was from the same set as the image using SU Orchid Opulence ink.  I just knew it wasn't quite finished, so I used my 2 Martha Stewart butterfly punches and punched the solid from the Orchid Opulence and the die cut from Basic Gray Plumeria.

Our sponsor this week is Shelly's Images and she is giving 1 free digi to one lucky winner.  You can't win if you don't enter!
So, next thing to do is to check out the rest of the DT and see what they've been up to.  You can find them on the blog roll on the left side of my blog or hop on over to Perfect Sentiment Challenge and see all the lovely creations they've come up with.  Then break out your crafting supplies and give it a go.  You may end up being the winner of this week's prize or be chosen as one of the Perfect 3.  Good luck!

I am submitting this card for the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiment - Clean and Simple
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Try it on Tuesday - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Lawnscaping Challenge - One Layer

Thanks again for stopping by and leaving your comments.  I do so appreciate all of them.

Sprinkles On Top

I finally have had a chance to play in another MFTWSC challenge.  I had this card made last week but had a busy weekend so I haven't had time to get it uploaded and it needed to be done before Tuesday.  I was really lucky a couple months ago and was able to get a package of stamps that one of the MFT DT's was weeding out of her collection.  This was one of the stamps.  I'm going to have so much fun using all the ones that I got.
The stamp is from the MFT Joline Sprinkles on Top set.  She's such a cutie.  I used Stampin Up Blushing Bride for the card base and Soft Sky for the image mount.  The dsp is from Michaels.  I stamped the image on Xpress It Blending Card and cut it out using my Nestabilities Classic Circle and the Lacy Scallop Circle for the mat.  The flower is from my stash.  The sentiment was stamped right on the image layer with Memento Black.  I used my Copics to color in the image -- B0000; BG01, BG10, BG11, BG15; E30, E31, E34, E50, E51, E53; E71, E74, E79; R01, R32, R81, R83, Y02, Y13, Y19, Y38.

I'm submitting this for the following challenges:

Fashionable Stamping Challenge - Anything Goes
No Matter Which Challenges - Anything Goes
Quirky Crafts - Must have a Cupcake
2 Sisters Challenge - Anything Goes
Challenge Up Your Life - Everything Goes
