Missing You - PSC17

Well, It's that time again.  Wednesday, and time for another Perfect Sentiments Challenge.  This week's theme is Missing a Button.  The challenge is to create a card for "Missing You."  The twist is to use a button/buttons on your card.

Sorry, no prize this week, but let's just play and have a fun time.  Use your creative talents and show us what you can do.  You will still be able to become one of the Perfect 3!

Here's my take on the challenge.
For this card I used the Imaginesce Blossoms and Stampin Up Fancy Flexible Phrases for the sentiment which I stamped in SU Peach Parfait.  The base of the card is SU Peach Parfait.  The embossed layer is one I received from a friend, so I'm no sure what it's called, but it goes perfectly here.  The dp is from SU Razzleberry Lemonade collection.  The image is matted on a piece of SU Wild Wasabi which was cut using my Nestablities die.  The buttons are from my stash.  The twine is SU Baker's Twine - Early Espresso.

I colored the image with my Copic markers:  R02, YR02, YR20, YR23, YG03, YG11, YG61.

Now, it's your turn.  Hop on over to Perfect Sentiments Challenge and play along with the rest of the Design Team.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.  Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

With Lots of Love

I had fun putting this card together forMy Favorite Things for the Wednesday Stamp Club No. 56.
I stamped the image Perfect Innocence Something Special Just for You with Memento black on Copic Blending paper and colored the skin, hair, gift, and envelope with my Copics.  I paper pieced the dress and crown.  I used my Marvy circle punch to punch it out and then matted it on an MFT Dainty Doily die cut from SU Peach Parfait.  The card base is SU Confetti Cream.  I used Basic Gray Porcelain paper pad for my layers and matted them on SU Kiwi Kiss.  The ribbon is SU Theater collection.  I used the Nestabilities Nested Lacey Pennants to make the banner for the sentiment also from the same stamp set which is stamped with SU Peach Parfait.  The crown is done with a piece of Gold Metallic paper.

Copics I used:  E000, E00, E34, E35, E37; E50, E51, E53; R37, R81; YG03, YG11, YG93; YR21, YR23, YR24.

I also created this for The Outlawz Color Challenge.  Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.  Have a wonderful day!

Mon Ami

For someone who usually doesn't do Valentine's Day cards, I sure am getting a few of them done this year.  I am finding that there are so many cute images to use for this day.  The stamp set I used for this card is an old SU one called Mon Ami.  It's not the best card I've done because I wanted even rectangles and each stamp was just a little off the size.  Oh well.  It is what it is.
It was pretty simple.  I used SU Confetti Cream cardstock for the base of the card.  I stamped the images with SU Cherry Cobbler on GP White.  After cutting the images, I placed them in the 4 corners of a piece of Cherry Cobbler which I then layered on the base.  The center panel I made from some paper in my stash as well as the dotted strip in layered in the middle.  Pretty easy, right!  The stamps have their own sentiments so I didn't add anything else.

I'm doing this card for the following two challenges - Mojo Monday No. 225 and The Outlawz, Twisted Thursday.

Thanks for coming by.  I appreciate all of your comments.  Become a Follower, and I'll be happy to come check out your blog also.

Teapot Tuesday Flower Cart

I made this card for last Tuesday's Teapot Tuesday Destination Station #182 on Splitcoaststampers.com.  The lady was recently diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.  Here's some information about her.  Betty is having trouble with blood clots, liquid on the lungs which causes great pain and has difficulty breathing. After another medical procedure is completed, Betty will be released home shortly. The doctors are giving her about 3 months to live. Betty and her husband are strong believers in prayer and remain upbeat and optimistic.

Betty's nicname is Sunshine! She loves sunshine and she loves flowers! She loves sweet little girl images (Precious Moment's type) and she decorates her home with plaques displaying positive, faith based sentiments. Betty recently organized a group called "A Ray of Sunshine" to visit the hospitalized.

I thought this flower cart full of pretty flowers would be cheerful for her.   If you would like to join in, head on over to the thread and get her address.
The image is from SU Love Ya Bunches (retired) and the sentiment is from Technique Tuesdays set Glee.  The card base and mats are SU Blushing Bride and the dp comes from my favorite paper Prima Sparkling Spring.  The ribbon is from Martha Stewart and the flower is from my stash.  I used my SU oval punch and oval scalloped punch for the sentiment.

Of course I colored the image with my Copic markers:  B000, B12; RV10, RV11, RV13, RV14; Y17; YG07, YG09, YG11, YG13; W3, W4.

Thanks for coming by.  I appreciate your comments.  Have a wonderful weekend.

A Big Thank You

I got some new stamps the other day, one of which was a cute fairy.  I inked her up and stamped her and then colored her in with my Copic markers.  I had already done the base of the card and had layers on it and just needed to add this to the top.  Ooops!  It didn't fit!!!!!!!  I was so disappointed, but I couldn't do anything about it because the rest of the card was already done.  So, on to Plan B!  (Have you noticed I like exclamation points?)  ;)  So, I scoured through my stamps to find something that would fit and do what I wanted it to do (which was fit!).  I finally found the perfect stamp.  It wasn't what I started out to do and changed the whole tone of the card, but it's perfect.  It's already winging it's way off to a dear friend.

I thought this was so beautiful.  I love the color purple and all these papers have that color in them.  Here's an upclose of the butterfly.
The cardstock base and mat is Stampin Up Rich Razzleberry.  The dp I used is Basic Gray's Kioshi.  So pretty.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's A Big Thank You which I stamped with Rich Razzleberry.  The butterfly is one by Recollections.  They have such gorgeous embellishments.  It was pretty simple, but I think turned out really pretty.  Hope the recipient likes it.  ;)

Posey for Your Birthday

Have a dear friend who was having a birthday this week.  Wanted to send her something special so this is the card I made for her.
I got this cute digi image from Rhoda's Design Studio.  The card base and mats are Stampin Up Poppy Parade.  I wanted to paper piece the dress so I was able to print the image onto the d/p and then cut it out to piece onto the image.  The d/p is SU Sunny Garden.  I love this paper.  I used Nestabilities Classic Oval to cut out the image and Lacey Ovals to mat it on. The sentiment is from SU Something to Celebrate and is stamped using SU Basic Black.  The ribbon is from my stash and the little flower is from Recollections.

I used my Copic markers to color:  B0000; E30, E31, E42, E43, E44, Y21, Y23, and YG93.

I'm also making this for the following Challenges:
Paper Sundaes - #104 for Paper Piecing

Sentimental Sundays - 86 Die Cuts

Western Sky

Hi my friends - I've got a new creation for you today.  This one is for the Monday Greeting Card Challenge over at The Outlawz.  The challenge was to make a Birthday card with a Western Theme.  Here's my entry -
I really like how this one turned out I used SU Soft Sky as my base and also used SU River Rock and Blue Bayou for layers and mats.  The dp is from SU Western Sky.  To create the image I used the horse from Stampin Up Wanted.  To get the look I wanted I used 3 SU Markers and colored on the stamp.  I used Basic Black for the hooves, then kind of outlined the horse with Chocolate Chip and finished by coloring in the image with Close to Cocoa - huffed on the stamp and then stamped on the GP White paper. To get the look of the horse running, I cut a mask of the horse, took a stamp from the SU set Bronc Buster and inked it up with Close to Cocoa and then stamped it off behind the horse so it looks like he's kicking up dust.  Used my Copic marker that looks like River Rock, but I didn't write down the number.  Sorry.  Oh, and sorry, but I don't remember which SU stamp set I got the sentiment from.  I'll have to look that up later.  It's stamped using SU Blue Bayou.

The Sketch I used was an old Mojo Monday sketch - No. 2.

That's it for this one.  I'm on a roll here lately, so stayed tuned for more to come.  Again, thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate all your comments.

Fabulous Friend - PSC 16

Hi Friends.  It's Wednesday again (already!) and time for another Perfect Sentiments Challenge.  This week the challenge was to make a round card with the sentiment of Friendship and the twist was to use this photo as our inspiration.  But if you don't have the equipment to make a round card, just make it a square card and add circles to it.  Easy, peasy!

Usually I like have a sketch to work with, but this one was difficult.  Took some time to figure out where I wanted to go with it, and I ended up pretty much following the sketch.  Here's my take on the challenge.
My largest die wasn't very big so I didn't have a lot of room to work with, but I loved this paper from Imaginisce - For Peep's Sake, Tiptoe Through the Tulips.  Such Springy colors.  I used my large Circle Nestibilities to cut the circle card from GP White.  Then just added the layers of dp to it.  The strip of ribbon is from Martha Stewart and the flowers are from Modern Romance.  I used my Copic markers Y19 and YR65 to add a little color to the centers of the flowers.

For the sentiment I used SU Oval All stamp colored with my Copic markers -- BG000; R21, R22, R43; YR65.  I used my SU oval punch to punch it out and popped it up on some dimensionals.  Then I layered the whole card on a white doily.

Now to the good part - PRIZES!  Our sponsor this week is Patties Creations -  The prize is one free digital image of your choice.

Take the challenge and see what you can do.  You might also end up as one of the Perfect 3!  Pop on over to Perfect Sentiments Challenge and check out what the Design Team has come up with and then create your own fabulous card.

Be My Sweetheart

I got really busy this weekend and spent a lot of time in my stamp room.  I had so many challenges to work on.  Luckily I was able to combine a few into just 3 cards.  This is the first of the 3 that I'm showcasing today.  This one was made using a digi image from The Outlawz created by Sandi Huggett for the Creative Freebie Challenge
Isn't this such an adorable image.  The cardstock I used was SU Cameo Coral and SU Soft Sky.  The DP is from Imaginisce - For Peep's Sake collection and the individual pages are Spring Fling and Pretty New Dress.  Love this paper.  The ribbon is from Martha Stewart seam tape.  The sentiment is
from SU A Light Heart which I stamped on a tab using My Favorite Things Bracket Tab with SU Cameo Coral ink.

I used my Copics to color the image.
Skin/Face, Lips, Cheeks, and Eyes - E50, E51, E53, R83, R81, B34
Heart - R20, R21, R22
Clothes/Socks - BG000, BG01, BG02
Teddy Bear - E31, E33, E35, E79
Shoes - E57, E71
Hair/Barrette - E35, E37, E39, R39, Spica Sand Gel pen
BG0000 - outline

Challenges I'm entering this in besides The Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge stated above are:
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps January Sketch

Snowflake

I've been really busy with so many other things that I've slacked off on making my 2012 Christmas cards.  Yep, getting started early so I don't have to stress at the last minute.  The SCS Christmas Card Challenge sure helps to keep me going.  This is the 3rd card for January so I guess I need to get busy and make 3 more. ;)

I really like going out of the box sometimes and use non-traditional colors for my cards.  I thought these colors were very "wintery" looking.  It's hard to see the layer of lace that I used so here's an upclose photo showing that.
It's so pretty IRL.
I was inspired by a card in the latest issues of Card Ideas for Paper Crafters and I neglected to write down the lady's name, but I'll check on that later.  The card was really easy to put together.  The snowflake is chipboard and I just pushed it into my glue pad and then sprinkled SU Dazzling Diamonds over it.  The base of the card and mat for the snowflake is SU Pale Plum.  The paper is from Basic Gray's Eskimo Kisses.  I used my window punch to punch out a piece of SU Sage Shadow and then used a rub on from DCWV Winter Rub Ons pad.  I thought the upper corner looked bare so I used a Recollections bling which I colored with a Copic marker.  I did that awhile ago and don't remember what color I used, but it looked good on this.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.  Have a wonderful day.

Celebrate - PSC 15

Welcome back to my blog.  It's Wednesday, so it's time for another challenge from Perfect Sentiments Challenge

The challenge this week is to make a card with the sentiment of Birthday.  The "twist" is to use the resist embossing technique.

Here is my creation for this week.

This was a lot of fun to create using this cute image "Josse" from Bildmalarna.  The sentiment is from SU Big Celebrations.

My card base is SU Baja Breeze and I used it to mat everything except the sentiment which is SU Red Riding Hood.  I used Versamark to stamp on GP White with SU Happy Birthday Greetings and then embossed it with White embossing powder.  I sponged on Red Riding Hood, Baja Breeze, and some Certainly Celery over the embossing and wiped it off .  The dp is from SU Hand Drawn paper package.

The image was colored with my Copic markers:  BG0000; BG72; E50, E51; G03; R12, R35, R37, R39; RV02; Y35, Y38, YR61; YG11, YG93, YG95.  I whitened up the cake with Opaque White and redrew the lines with a Multiliner.

To help get you inspired to join in, there is a prize which will be announced a week from Friday.  Our sponsor this week is My Little Somethings
The prize this week is a grab bag of crafting supplies valued at a minimum of $15.  This is limited to US participants only.  If you're a non-US participant and the winner, you will be rewarded with digital images.

Everyone always need birthday cards, so check out the creations from the Design Team to get a little more inspiration and get busy.

Happy Mail

I'm not much into making Valentine cards, but this was such a cute image, that I had to make her into a Valentine.  I'm using this card for two challenges - My Favorite Things #54
I'm also entering in the January challenge for Pixie Dust Paperie.  The challenge was to make a card for Valentine's Day or using a heart on the card.  Here's my creation.

I wasn't too thrilled with my paper selection, but it's what I had to work with.  ;)
The image is from MFT - Pure Innocence Happy Mail and part of the sentiment is from SU Happy Heart Day.  The base is SU Pink Pirouette and the ink is SU Pixie Pink.  The paper is from my stash as well as the ribbon.  The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with my Copics and then cut out and adhered to a piece of pink dp.

The Copics I used were:  Skin: E50, E51, E53; Shoes, E13, E15, E18; Letters E30; Bird, B32, B34; Hair, Y02, Y08, Y18; Dress, R21, R22; Mailbox, W2, W3, W4, R29; Grass G03, G05.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.  Have an awesome day!

Funky Felines

I can't believe it's been a whole week since I've posted anything on my blog.  Well, I have been busy with various things.

Today is Teapot Tuesday and I've got a funny, whimsical card for a fellow Pennsylvanian which is where I was born and raised.  Amy is a college student and when she went to get checked out to see if she had meningitis, she found out that instead of that, she had leukemia.  She's been in the hospital for a few weeks dealing with some issues related to this disease, but hopes to be going home shortly and I hope that she'll be able to continue her studies.
I thought this would bring a smile to her face.

The image is Funky Felines from The Angel Company. It's been sitting around my stamp room for a long time not being used.  The layout is for the iheartstamps.com January Sketch challenge.

The base is SU Cherry Cobbler and the dp is Basic Gray Lime Rickey paper pad.  The ribbon (which I love) is from Bowdabra (Thank you Sarah - it was perfect for this), and  I used my Marvey circle punch and scallop punch.

I colored the image with my Copic markers -- B0000; BG000, BG01, BG02; YG06, YG13, YG25; YR01, YR02, YR16; R37, R39, R59; Y13, Y18.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate all your comments very much.  Have a wonderful day.

Joshua's Valentine

It's time for Teapot Tuesday again.  Yes, I know it's Thursday, but this post is for my SCS Teapot Tuesday card.  This week the card is going out to a young boy who is very ill and only 5 years old.  My heart goes out to his mom and the rest of his family and prayers are said for their peace and comfort and his recovery if it be His will.   They wanted to send him cards to uplift his spirits and bring a smile to his face, so we were asked to do Valentine cards.  I tried not to be too girly.

Pretty simple, but I really like how it turned out.
Card stock - GP white; SU Lovely Lilac
Stamp set - SU Happy Heart Day.  I also used A Light Heart inside the card stamped it in Lovely Lilac
Pattern Paper - Lovey Dovey from Oriental Trading
Ribbon - Michael's - Textured Trios.  You might not be able to tell, but I put 3 pleats  in the ribbon on the left side of the card.  I've got to search for a tutorial on how to do that because this was NOT easy.
Dies are Nestabilities - Classic Large Ovals, and Scalloped Oval.
Copics:  B0000; E31, E34, E35; R39; RV21, RV23; BV01, BV11, V17.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate all your comments.  Have a blessed day.

Sympathy in Blue

Hello everyone.  It's Wednesday again so that means another Perfect Sentiments Challenge.   This week's challenge was to create a card with the sentiment of sympathy; and the twist was to use this photo as inspiration.
Whoa!  That didn't come out too big, but I guess you can get the idea.  I used the color scheme as my inspiration and went looking for a layout that I liked.  I came across this card in Card Ideas for Paper Crafters by Nicky Hsu.  Here is a link to her blog showcasing her card.  http://craftcoffeecat-nicky.blogspot.com/2011/08/publish-card-ideas-for-paper-crafters.html  My card doesn't really look anything like hers, but it did inspire me and turned into this card.
Not much stamping and no Copics on this one, but I love the way it turned out.  The card base is just white.  I used another sheet of paper from my Prima Sparkling Spring paper pad layered on top of the base.  Then I just added things to it.  The blue crushed velvet ribbon is from my stash.  The Recollections flower is layered on a Rolled Daisy die from My Favorite Things cut out of SU Bashful Blue.  The pearls and glitter bling are from Recollections.  The sentiment is from Papertry Ink's Sympathy set stamped on white and matted on another piece of Bashful Blue.  I shaped the ends by hand.

I hope this will give you some inspiration and an incentive to come join us this week and show us what you can do.  I know that I, for one, don't usually have a sympathy card around when I need one, so this is a good time to add at least one to your stash.

And, of course, we have a PRIZE!

    Ballerina Snowglobe

Hello again.  Hope you all had a great weekend.  It was pretty busy here, but I still found some time to put together this card for The Outlawz Freebie Challenge and also the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challene No. 53.  This photo does not do her justice at all.  It look so much better IRL.
The image is one created by Sandi Huggett over at The Outlawz.

I used SU Pear Pizazz for the card base.  I really love that color and seem to be going to it quite often.  The pattern paper is from Prima's Sparkling Spring paper pad.  Love, love, love this paper.  I'm going to be so sad when it's all gone.

The circle layer is matted on a piece of Papertrey Ink Sweet Blush which I cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Peony Die.  I colored the image with my Copic Markers and popped it up on dimensions over all the layers of pp.  The sentiment is stamped with SU Regal Rose on the PTI Sweet Blush and cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Nested Lacey Pennants Die.  Just to give it a little sparkle I added a little Recollections Glitter bling.

    The Copics I used were B0000; E31, E34, E35; E50, E51; R20, R21, R22; Y11, Y13, Y18; W0, 0.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments. I do appreciate all of them.

For You With Love - PSC13

It's Wednesday and time for another Perfect Sentiment Challenge.  I'm very excited to have joined the Design Team here and work with these wonderful ladies with so much talent.  The challenge this week is to

Create a card with a card with a sentiment for Valentine's Day.
The Twist is to use Vellum on the project.

The image is Sunshiny Day from Pure Innocence which I cut out with Nestabilities Classic Ovals Large.  It is matted on SU Pixie Pink cut out with Nestabilities Lacey Oval. For this card, I used SU Pixie Pink as the base (size is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4).  I layered a piece of printed Vellum with pink and lavendar butterflies on it over a piece of plain white cardstock.  It's kind of hard to see the butterflies in the photo.   The sentiment is from SU Riveting which is stamped in Pixie Pink on GP White and layered on a circle of SU Pixie Pink.  The accessories I used are a strip of pink ribbon lace, flowers from Recollections, and pink ribbon from my stash.  The pink ribbon bow is made using the Mini Bowdabra.  Have I told you how much I love this little tool.

    The image is colored with Copic markers:  B0000; G00; G12, G14, G16; E50, E51, E53;  E23, E25, R20, R21, R30; RV06; Y11, Y13, Y15; W0.

Now for the fun part.  We have a prize to give away to one lucky winner.

Eyelets Etc ~ A sheet of vellum stickers (US participants only)
If the winner is from outside the US, digital images will be sent.

Now that I've shared my card, hop on over to the rest of the Design Team and check out their fabulous creations:

Teapot Tuesday - Swing Into Spring

This is the first time I've taken part in the SCS Teapot Tuesday Destination Station, but the recipient this time is a very dear friend of mine - Sonja Bailey!  Sonja and her family have gone through a lot of trials this past year.  You can read her story here - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/teapot-tuesdays-f260/teapot-tuesday-destination-station-t495473-7.html  It's the last post on the page.  Sonja is one of the kindest, nicest people I know and I've not even met her in real life yet!  She never has a harsh or unkind word to say about anyone so this stamp and sentiment I thought were perfect for her card.

One of Sonja's favorite colors is Teal, so the base of my card is made using SU Taken With Teal.  I used decorative scissors (Sunflower) to trim off the bottom of the pattern paper - SU Petals and Paisley.  The image was stamped using Memento Black onto Copic Blending Paper and colored with my Copic markers.  BG0000, BG11, BG45, BG409; E23, E25, E27; E31, E34, E35; E50, E51, E53; R30, R37, RV04; YG03, YG95, Y11, Y21, Y23.  The image is matter on a layer of Vellum Cardstock cut using Nestabilities Die Lacey Ovals.  I put one small pearl in the center of each scallop.  From my stash - Teal crochet lace, brads, teal ribbon made into a bow using the Mini Bowdabra.
Don't be intimidated by it.  It's really very easy to use and makes great bows.
The sentiment was stamped on GP White using SU Taken With Teal.  To finish it off, I put a row of brads across the bottom and popped a larger pearl in the center of the bow.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate all of your comments.

    Happy New Year and News

Happy New Year to all of you.

I don't have a card to upload at the moment.  Well, I do, but that will come later today.  Right now I just wanted to share some exciting news with you with regard to my stamping and my blog.  If you look over to the left, you will see not 1, but 2 new badges.  I'm really excited about both of these opportunities and look forward to creating new things and stretching my mojo a little more this year.

First of all, I was invited to be on the Design Team for Bowdabra.  They make the greatest little tools to help you make bows.  I'm so bow challenged and their Mini Bowdabra has really been a great find for me.  You can check out the blog http://bowdabrablog.com/.  There are so many creative people out there.  I look forward to working with them and helping to bring the Bowdabra tools to many more just like me.

Also, Some months ago I started blogging and in conjunction with that I joined a couple blogging groups on Splitcoaststampers - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/.  Both have awesome members.  A member of one of those blogging groups decided to start her own challenge website and created Perfect Sentiments Challenge - http://perfectsentimentschallenge.blogspot.com/.  I started playing along with the challenges every week and really enjoyed it.  When Jennipher sent out a Design Team call, I applied and was requested to be a Guest Designer this past December which I did and had tons of fun with the challenges.  Now I've been asked to join the Design Team, and I'm really excited about this opportunity to work with these wonderful and talented ladies.  I'm sure I'll be able to learn so much more from them

I hope that you all keep following what I'm doing and that you will come play at Perfect Sentiments every Wednesday when the new challenge is posted or whenever you can.  Prizes are given randomly each week for one lucky participant and 3 participants can also have the opportunity to become one of the PSC Perfect 3.

Also, come visit at Bowdabra and see what all the Design Team over there are doing.  They have some awesome creations.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll have a couple new posts up later today and tomorrow.
